Pls I want to ask again. I'm actually applying for dssc. Will they find out if I use a contact lense during the eye exam? I tend to squint a little to get clearer view of very distant letters. So I want to beat the odds with a contact. Will they open my eyes to exam or just the usual Snellen chart?

Please reply. Thanks

Do U guys think Killing of the Benue Militia leader, Mr Terwase Akwaza (aka Gana) by the Nigerian Military Was the Best Option..
(a) If Yes, why?
(b) If No, Why?
Yes
Just because he's a dangerous criminal shouldn't make him above the law.
Besides he once repented but later reneged back to his ways, so of what reason do you want the military to believe he has truly repented?
And don't forget the mayhem the bastard and his boys unleashed on innocent citizens via kidnapping.
What about the killing of soldiers?
I'd say he had it coming a long time.
What I feel the soldiers did was trying to avoid the path of "repented bh" via rehabilitation coz let's be honest, it's a complete waste of time. You can't change a criminal mind especially a terrorist by locking em up a few months and give them lectures then you'd expect them to change.
It failed in Afghan, it failed in Nigeria.
Go and see what's happening in Borno with the so called repentant bh when dey came back.

I understand some people might have counter opinion and that's birthed out fear on the possible mayhem his boys would release to the society. Anybody that decides to become a terrorist deserves to die.
Don't compare this to Muhammad Yusuf in 2009. He was not violent, but this guy was, at the time, he wasn't a terrorist but just troublesome and to an extent reasonable unlike his successor(s)

I'd stop here coz I feel I'm dragging this topic too much
There lot's of dynamics to this thing. A terrorist can never change. Always have that at the back of you mind

First of all, I've never been to screening but I'll answer this on experience of others.
Using contacts to scale through the exams solely depends on how discreet you go about it. Usually you're called before the chart over a distance and asked if you can see certain alphabets.
You can decide to hide your contacts when ure there and only use it on the day of medical examination.
The way and manner in which you go about it would determine if you'd get caught or not.

My own piece : let's desist from this habit of trying to beat the system. E get why.
Above all, I wish you all the best

I had a dream this morning. I saw myself at NDA, acquiring my training kits and uniforms as well as serving jobs as a colito. The prep wingers were also around to deal with us seriously. I was just shouting, "Morning sir... Yes sir."

Lol cheesy

I met someone at the Academy, when we went to collect our kits. He was just so happy for me. "We are so proud and happy that you're serving the nation again," he said. He also told me where to get iron if I need to iron my uniforms.

Guys, in that dream, I saw there were a lot more successful candidates for officer cadet training (SSC) this time around- like the Army decided to increase the number of intakes. Too many of them. People who never thought they'll make it in (including myself) got in for training. Everyone was so happy.

I love this kinda dream though. It gives me a lot of hope, that this year, there'll be breakthrough.

I pray that this dream will manifest as a full reality this SSC course 47. I pray same for every nairalander.

I've never been to screening as well and I believe only Ugo4u, Sikowitz17 and few others that have been to screening can answer this.

But based on what I've heard and read generally from these experienced comrades, it all depends on the doctor examining you. A particular doctor may decide to check into your eyes while another will just bring up the chart. I guess that is why prayer is needed after all make Village people no follow find person go screening

SITUATION REPORT THURSDAY MORNING

SSC = 8223

DSSC = 22840

Sorry from the break in communication, it was due to the problem with the portal

From my last post on MONDAY where we have

SSC= 7282
DSSC = 20123

This simplifies that there is an increase of 941 new profile on SSC from MON-THUR

Also there is an increase of 2717 for new profiles on DSSC from MON-THUR.

We hereby cannot make a definite conclusion that the turn out is low based on the fact that the portal had ish...a three days consistent study on the trend will give a broad picture of the situation

Stay safe n God bless

From my own personal Experience in the last screening, she never touched my forehead talk less of touching my eyes or using touch light to look into my lense grin. What she did was instructed me to cover one eye and read the Alphabet bla bla bla, after that was shown a Snellen chart.

Note: The person was very close to me, I mean was beside me during the test, so she might be looking into my eyes I may not know.

Immediately I enter I wanted to cram %70 of the letters written in small font size and their positioning before she will tell me to cover one eye, because am very good at craming grin but she no gree give me chance grin, she quickly asked me to face the wall, but still baba still try crammed some within 2 seconds before everything go burst grin grin grin

So you are responsible for every actions you take. So make your choice my dear coursemate grin

Personally, I believe that if we are looking at it from the point of a nation's democratic ideals and how our institutions fare compared to global standards, it's an absolute No for me.

And the case of his dead is beyond whether it was wrong or right, how is it that you declare amnesty and then go ahead to kill the person even when he is defenseless? It reeks of a conspiracy somewhere, there's some fat politician or elite trying to cover his tracks. And if there's any iota of truth to that then it is such a shame how state controlled institutions are used.

I am of the firm believe that one of the things that we should always try to strengthen are our institutions and how trustworthy the citizenry, both law abiding and rogues consider them to be.

Gana has done more than enough to earn his death, but the way and manner it is done will determine if it will help solve the problem or further fuel it in the long run. Because i believe the last thing someone who is into such acts of terrorism fears is death, anyone who has crossed that line willingly is already on a suicide mission, and I believe incarceration and jail time sends a more positive message to those who are willing to drop their arms, but then again our Judiciary is also not there yet when it comes to prosecutions of such issues.
Las Las, Naija matter no dey ever finish and there's no definite solution. RIPieces Gana

Last year ssc the men in charge only asked for us to close one eye and take reading, no physical examination of the eye by the personnel.

No, because it has a far reaching effect on the image of the Army and Nigeria in extension. NGOs like Amnesty int'l and other sister organisations will latch on this and begin a campaign of calumny the results might be another international sanctions or arms embargo on Nigeria similar to what happened under GEJ where equipments/weapons to prosecute the war on terrorism wasn't sold to us. The US can easily invoke the Leahy's law and place sanctions on us remember we just paid over $600m for fighter jets and other associated armaments, Uncle Sam may wake up one day and cancel all the deal citing poor human rights records and there is nothing we can do about it.
I don't believe in granting terrorists and deviants Amnesty. I would have preferred they allowed him go through an accelerated judicial process,
We all know that he is a daredevil criminal but the rules of engagement is sacred, what now happens to his followers or a peace deal in the future? Would criminals agree to lay down their weapons and accept alternative options to conflict resolutions? Your guess is as good as mine. This is similar to how Bokoharam started under Yusuf where the Police killed him extra Judicially and made his followers go haywire 10yrs down the line we are still fighting at a great cost to both the military and civilians alike.
For Mr Tewase Akwaza he lived by the sword and has fallen by the same sword. It's a lesson to all that crime does not pay and some day everyone will get justice, it could be Civil or Jungle it doesn't matter.

okay so let me share my experience from 45 and 46.. in 45 anybody that used the lens would have been discovered Cos after we read the letters and were checked for color blindness, there was an optician on seat that used some eye machines to look inside our eyes.. studying the iris and corneas for internal eye defects.. it all happened in the same room.. but for 46, there was nothing like that.. it was just read the letters, and check for color blindness..and that was it.. nobody actually knows what modalities would be added or removed until we get there... what if this year a proper eye examination is done? What if it’s not? So last last the decision is up to you.. just know that if you are caught with contacts, depends on who catches you with it, it might end badly or just with a warning.... besides since it’s dssc you applied for, I don’t think it’s a through check sha Cos I have some pictures which include pictures from the dssc dinner on their last month and some of them were on glasses.
