Wheew! Let's have this sorted out.

Back then in school, it's common among students in tertiary institutions to have a roommate; as a matter of fact, some go as far as having multiple roommate or "roomies" as informally enshrined in the student's constitution.

However, as observed in most social setting, there's always diverse views which lead to disagreement when human coexist

I'm bringing this up for the new entrants and those who have intentions of studying in the higher institution to learn in order not to make same mistake and how to go about it if they are confronted with one

So, from your experience, tell us what caused the fight between you and your roommate and how you contained it

Let me relay my experience cheesy

To me, having a roommate is a bittersweet experience, I did have one, I knew him from nowhere, we just buddy up to rent a self con, reason being that I was indecisive and felt a roommate will help cushion me up when I'm down, someone to talk to and you know the rest...
I always fantasize about having one then when I was still in secondary school, you know those online nairaland stories(Flow, you dey there?)

However, We did have issues, we planned on eating from same pot, unknown to me, I didn't know I will be majorly shouldering the responsibilities of the kitchen...
Guy eats from outside and expected me to be forthcoming, was I able to solve it? I was a man of few words and I did tell him to contribute or at least, wash at when due, I hate the sight of unwashed dishes...
He changed and then reverted so, I felt really bad and start to think, it's better not to have a roommate.

Those cushion I expected could be provided by neighbors, you can talk to them and won't feel bored, God help you if there are females in the hostel, one could be a very good friend and trust, the experience will be fantastic... shocked

I know some will beg to disagree

My ever able nairalanders; the floor is open for your contribution embarassed
Let's hear your ordeals

from my own experiences.

learn to make compromise, treat them how you want them to treat, be kind, let go of grudges and try to remember that we are all living in the pursuit of happiness.

Nigga was so boring. Always stayed indoors sleeping, while I had guys' conversations at our lodge's veranda.. He never partook in anything socially-related inside the lodge premises..

He would leave the whole room messed up and unkempt, and the dirty plates unwashed whenever he left for work(he was a weekend student, thus he had a shifting job that allowed him go to school on weekends)

He is my childhood friend and we really had come a long way that's why I had to tolerate all those things.. But my level of tolerance was limited when he found out and wasn't happy with my girlfriend because I would always invite her to spend the night with me whenever he(my roomie) was on a night shift..

He warned me not to sleep with a girl in the room we both paid to stay because the bed we slept on was his. I laughed it off and continued doing my thing. One early morning he came back from work, he saw me and my girlfriend lying and discussing on that same bed. He started shouting at me and raising a scene at that moment . I had to excuse and see my girl off immediately so that it wouldn't make matters worse..

After we both shouted and exchanged words without any fight, our lodge guys who heard and witnessed the whole thing hated him that very moment cos he never behaved like a real niggar. I had to leave him for another roommate after my ND1 cos of misunderstanding and for the fact that he was never a real niggar..

Tie your belly with leather belt, I heard it helps
On the side, snoring is a very terrible anti-sleep behaviour.
