Is there vacancy there
We need job
More importantly and appropriatetly good question!

But you would find that all the vacancies has already been filled with appointed family members and people who are willing and can afford to bribe their ways into the left over vacancies.

No difference they still have to pay you for services provided. it is illegal and morally wrong to witheld pay for services supplied by a worker. I don't know what planet nigerian government are operating on.

They should please just provide enough chairs inside airport halls in Nigeria.

Let it be functional and comfortable with proper ventilation and AC then nick nack beautification can come later.
I wonder, last time i had wanted to sit down on a chair at the MMA lagos i was told that i cannot, that the chairs are for elderly people only. grin grin grin when i protested that it is discrimination i was told again that i should "have respect for elderly people and that here is not America or europe where you people are disrespecful" . grin grin i couldn't help but laugh even more.

it's insanely unaccetable. but one question i ussually ask anyone who says that they are been owed for six months, 12 months or more is, Why didn't they quit the job the first 1 month or 2 that they didn't get paid? i mean, how can the survive? or how did they survive the 3,4, 5 or 6 months without pay? undecided

perhaps the reason they are owed for 6 months or more is because they were still turning up for work the first, second and third of the months they owed.

I don't get it!

Typical, A little overdue development for slumland over there you now have mouth to talk! You'll be glad to know this airport is bus station level in South Africa. Celebrate your achievements without throwing shade at other nations, we have no business with your sub-par airport.

Peace!

I can understand not been sure of getting a new job but it is no different from not getting paid atall for the job you are in.

I would rather stay at home relax than waste the money i have on tranportations to travel to waste my energy on the job that i am not getting paid for. as i asked again, how do you people live, pay rent, eat, pay for other things including trasportation to work if you are not paid for atleast 2 to 3 months? it beats my imaginations.

pardon my curiosity, maybe because i have never exprienced this situation, if my employer don't pay me in the first month he/she better have a good reason for that otherwise they would end up paying 4 times the amount in compensations.

For travelers through the Port Harcourt International Airport, it is a whole new experience as they get to experience the airport like never before, all thanks to the collaborative efforts of FAAN, China Civil Engineering and, Spacefinish.

In 2019, FAAN consulted Spacefinish, a Nigerian design company to help design and fit-out both the new Port Harcourt and the Lagos international airports as part of its effort to redefine the experience of travelers passing through its international airports across the country. Spacefinish is known for the design of some of the continent’s most iconic workspaces like the first ever Google Developer Space in Africa, PwC Experience Centre, Andela’s Epic Tower amongst others.

According to the design team, “some of the questions posed at the beginning of the project is how do we tell rich stories of Port Harcourt and River state and how do we leave a lasting impression on the minds of travelers?”

"Port Harcourt is a beautiful city that has had its share of negative media attention. So we thought of ways to bring together different iconic parts of the city to create a unifying theme of the Garden City which Port Harcourt has always been called.”
In the mural, you’ll see the Mile One market with its colorful umbrellas, the people of Port Harcourt with their resplendent attires, and the greenery of the land, all reemphasizing Port Harcourt as the Garden City.

Opposite the Garden City mural is the Fish-Woman - a celebration of the rich and diverse cultures of Rivers State. Rivers State has over 10 ethnic groups that have co-existed peacefully for centuries, sharing a common interest in fishing as a favorite pastime. This mural at the Departure Lounge pays homage to this inherent reality.

The Floating Fisherman, one of Nigeria’s largest art installations ever, overlooks the executive lounge of the airport. The art installation is suspended 20ft in the air featuring over 700 canoe paddles, 3 lifesize boats, a 9ft fisherman casting a fishing net the size of a volleyball court, and a school of fishes swimming with a 20ft silver shark. The installation mirrors real sea life and it is an allusion to a favorite pastime of Riverians which is fishing.

The Towering Boat is an exaggerated life-sized boat that celebrates a lifestyle predominant in Rivers State. The boat also serves as a thoroughfare in the Departure terminal of the airport, and also a temporary seating area with movable furniture provided around its perimeter.

Airports are sometimes the first and last points of contact for travelers and Spacefinish has ensured that travelers through the Port Harcourt airport have something of the city to take along as with them as they travel. The design company is also currently working on the Lagos International Airport and is expected to deliver yet another masterpiece project very soon.

na only these sections dey for the airport?

Very funny and hypocritical people Na im full 9ja.

We claim to respect people yet pension for the lucky few is not paid on time, no free health and social care, children and rent is pension for 99% of elderly people, oyinbo give free public transport for most elderly people, etc.

Yet oyinbo we claim no respect oyinbo ensure their aged have dignity and care in old age. No guessing which I'd prefer any day.

Absolutely! in nigeria they reserve airport seats for the elderly rather than provide them with all the good things you mentioned above. grin grin grin I would rather be a disrespected old man in here in England than an old man in nigeria with nothing only airport seat reservations. how many nigerian elderly goes to MMA or even travels through the airport?

My gosh South Africa builds new world class infrastructure everyday but we don't rub it in other countries faces. Can't he celebrate his successes without pulling others down. Now that he's brought us into this I'm glad you skooled him his airport is like old Park Station in Johannesburg for local trains.

Unfortunately we ain't no niggarz nothing. In 5 years come back and look at this airport and then go look at OR Tambo in Johannesburg or kotoka and tell me which one looks better.

Like we always say, we still lack maintenance mindset.

The only thing that will save these airports is if they are concessioned.

well.. that's fine but i don't think they would ever make you miss a flight they cannot be that cruel or desparate.

As for your friend it doesn't matter how one dresses they would still find out that one can atleast afford to "dash" out 5k naira. grin like you said when they see another countries passport in your possession, Do you know that you can still travel back to the US with your left over nairas you use them next time depending on how often you travel, even if you don't travel to nigeria that often. you don't have to empty your wallet of all the nairas before your depature, i still have atleast 55k naira in my luggage over here, i will use them this december in nigeria. use them at the airport, to pay for food, local flight or even drinks, hotel room, recharge cards, anything.

grin grin grin@ oga! give me my money back.

seriously try and ignore them next time.
Yes I knew I could come over with my left over nairas. I did a few times and ended up sharing some of the nairas with some American friends. A few of them talked about how ugly they thought our heroes looked on dem notes and I told them the heroes look much uglier on dem dollar notes too. Like u already know, all many of them have seen their entire lives are currencies they see every day. Seeing something from a different nation like many exposed Nigerians have seen is a mystery to them. Are you in the US? Im in ATL.

98% of elderly people in 9ja will only see an aeroplane flying by in the sky until they die.

Airport seats are for the privileged elderly. Only diaspora people inviting their parents abroad even make some normal elderly people ever see an airport.
