Has anyone that applied through paper application route in January or February gotten a decision recently? I am tired of waiting since January 30th.
I have an unused 1 yr Schengen visa that will expire in November on my passport. I don't want that visa to waste ooo.
Is there anyway I can request for speedy consideration of my application?

Honestly I hope there is a way. Have you sent a web form? If not try sending one and call VFS directly you can check their website for the number..., some days ago someone posted on this forum that VAC contacted her for passport return so am sure they are working with limited staff member and things are slow .....but for paper application it's on VFS website that it has been kept on hold till September 30th I don't know if that has been reviewed. we are actually at a very challenging period but God will see us through.

Apply ...but try to ensure your home ties in Nigeria are stronger than the one in Canada in ur application...so you won't be denied on the ground dat you would not return back home.

Good day Everyone. Please I need advice... I, my husband and daughter submitted our TRV Application on April 16, 2020. Our Biometric Instruction Letter was emailed on to us on April 17, 2020. We have not been able to schedule an appointment to submit Biometrics because VFS office was not open for this purpose. With the latest development ( VFS Reopening) , we wish to go for Biometrics since we have been issued with the Letter. The issue is that my International Passport will be expiring on March 30, 2021. As regards Visa requirement of an international Passport 6 months validity for issue/ application of Visa. Is it ok to get a new international passport? I submitted a copy of this present passport in my application? I believe we are suppose to present the International Passport which was used for TRV application to VAC. Has anyone had an issue as this? How did you resolve it? Thanks in Advance Gurus.

Send a web form with your explanation about your passport, go for a new one and upload the data page of your new one as additional documents am sure a lot of ppl are in that condition presently because of these covid situation so in my opinion it's not a big issue .. book for your biometric and go for data capturing with ur new passports passport is just for identification I think the most important thing is your BIL

Thank you @ Anndav. Please on which site can I find the web form and where do I upload the new data page of the new international passport?

Has anyone recently applied for a visitor's visa for their parent during this pandemic period?

My wife and I (both PR) want to apply for a visitor's visa for her mum to come sometime in December. My questions are:
1. Being a family member of a PR, in that she's exempted from the current travel restrictions, do we have to prove that she's coming for an essential purpose (I do think we don't have to)?
2. If we mention that she is coming to witness the birth of her first grandchild (I can't seem to think of another reason), would this count against us as a visa officer may think she's coming to do nanny?

I don't really know how to share link on nairaland... if you Google Canada application webform it will link you and you will have opportunity to be aware of a lot of other things there website if very rich with information . But you need to know the visa office that is processing your application ..most TRV is processed at Nairobi, Kenya mostly

Good evening everyone, please my own case is proof of tie in Nigeria, I have "deed of land" and also own a pharmacy but the pharmacy isn't registered in my name since I'm not a pharmacist although I have all the docs. Is there any way I can link the pharmacy to my name and also convince the VO that I own the pharmacy? I think I have other docs required to process for Canada tourist visa for Xmas vacation. Also I travelled to kenya/dubai this February for one week vacation, I guess this will serve as travel experience

Applied in February as well, no word yet...
But they're attending to student visas just not tourists

Home ties is that thing you can never leave behind, what will always pull you back home ...eg good job, family such as aged parents, children, spouse , siblings. And good landed property.

Honestly I don't think anyone know o....but they are so busy with student that they have to send Nigeria student application to other visa office as far as Vietnam , China and some other funny places to enable them meet visa processing deadline which is by September 15th. It's really affecting visa decision honestly students are not finding it funny . So I know we would start to hear from them.. even ppl that have approved application have not been getting there passport return . But let's keep hope alive that thing will go back to normal very soon.

Processing of application begins only after biometrics. I will get a new passport before the biometrics if I were you.

Hi people. Please is UK and Germany okay as travel experience for application of Canadian Visitors visa? I have Germany Residence Permit(more than a year). Should I still go to Turkey?

That’s ok. Why don’t you apply from Germany since you are a resident?

Hi guys, how long before a prepaid envelop sent for passport collection is returned? My friends parents submitted since last week monday and tl now it has not been sent back to them. Also did they need to write their UIC on the prepaid envelope? They did not and tgey think that may be the reason for the long wait. Anyway to contact the embassy besides email?

Good morning ladies and gentlemen.

Is it possible to start PR application pending response on your TRV?

Applied for TRV for birth reasons but no thanks to the pandemic, our baby is here.

We’ve not heard word regarding the application but I’m itching to begin PR application once and for all. Is this possible or do I have to wait till a decision on the TRV is made?

Thank you.
