Thanks for the pix. This is the first time I'll see a "clear, close up" picture of the Kainji dam. But if I may ask, since that's where we generate electricity from, abeg the water dey shock person?

The higher the price, the higher the quantity supplied.

This is still early days. The Discos have longed been complaining that they are selling at a loss which made them not only under invest, but refused to buy enough electricity from the Gencos.

All of a sudden, power supply seemed to have increased folkowing this tariff increase. In a year's time, I won't be surprised if power supply averages 20hours minimum, with some discos providing 24 hours light nonstop in their captive market.

If there's going to be any problem, it's bound to be with Transmission as they don't have the capacity to carry all the load produced by the Gencos to the discos

Power supply seem to have increased? You must be enjoying light, bro.

Since the tariff increase, they've suddenly started "sharing" light for us, even when we already pay high. We are currently on out third day without light now, whereas we used to have light everyday before now.

It is not the issue of being fake, why must a power dam (Hydro) undergoing a maintenance be a cause for alarm in a country of about 200 million people. Can that be a news in Israel a country of about 9 million people?

Nigeria is a joke, underdeveloped. We are tied together by force. The political structure of Nigeria can never make Nigeria to move forward. Power is in the exclusive list. Generation and transmission remains with FG. The Provinces in China don't operate the way things are done here. Anything you find classified in the exclusive list in Nigeria is indirectly reserved for a region in Nigeria and those are the things they used to tie Nigeria down to poverty and underdevelopment.

We need restructuring.

This is not true. An official statement was released yesterday by the operator, what was being reported as a burst is the usual spillage exercise. I served there, and I still have contacts there who confirmed nothing is wrong at the dam site.

Stop looking at things myopically. APC and PDP are one and the same. Don't be fooled. The problem is the politicians not the party nomenclature

Wrong... the embarkment is the dam itself... It encloses the water.. The only thing you construct in a dam is the embarkment(with rock pile at the upstream and rock dump downstream) and the spillway
guy, no start this thing with me. The Kainji dam is not an embankment dam that you construct with debris. The embankment of the Kainji dam are rocks and debris that are specifically placed on the riverbank and foundation to prevent water from the spillway from falling directly on the soil structure or foundation. what this does is to prevent digging of the soil structure by the high velocity/pressure water from the spillway.

From Naira devaluation to Corona virus.

From Corona to increment of Taxation.
From Taxation to Increment of Bank charges.
Bank charges to increment of Electricity tariff.
Electricity tariff to Hiking of fuel Pump price.
Okay from pump price to New Water bill Law
What of the CAMA law among others... all these crazy bill and laws happened in a year and all is to generates revenue!!! then who knows their next plan

Still yet Economics is unnegotiable.
