Ok I think it should be on Left Side of Engine Block, towards Rear of Engine.

releality is the system is out of date

"WHY ?"a car will carry its VIN number for the rest of its life even with any modification then whereas the engine can be changed many times during the course of the life of the car hence the engine number is not necessary during registration

engine is necessary when aquiring parts especially from the dealer

BUT if law requires you to do so then you have to find the engine number
