All through primary school we sing we are the leaders of tomorrow, but it seems tomorrow never seems to come.

We have this preconceived mentality that our current leaders don't want us to lead the country but do we actually have what it takes to lead the country. The reasons why the youths haven't become leaders are :-

1. Misplaced Priorities :- Nigerian youths have shown so much energy for things that really doesn't matter. It is funny how fuel prices and electricity tariffs were hiked and yet no one is saying anything about it but Erica was disqualified from BBNaija house and a GoFund me account was setup to raise 100 million naira for her. What is the colour of our problem sef.

2.They don't have plans for the country :- An average Nigerian youth is just praying to God to bless him/her so they can go and get a better life outside this country, and not thinking of what happens to their father's land when they are gone, and the saddening aspect is that they go to develop the countries where they relocate to, they contribute so much to the economical development of those countries while Nigeria lives is ruin

3.Lack of Unity among the youths:- Youths account for almost half of the Nigerian population and if this number is harnessed together plus the little few older folks who would show support for the new movement we can install a youth leader but the kind of unity to do this doesn't exist.

4.They know little or nothing about Politics :- On the average the Nigerian youth cares less about how the country is been operated. And how do you expect to run and control a system you know little or nothing about.

In conclusion, we seems to blame the government for not allowing the youth get into positions in the country but on a critical look, Are the youths ready for governance? Would love to see your answers in the comments section. Thank you for your time.

So far our elders are still alive, I personally don't see any genuine reason why the young should rule this country.

Most of these old men in power are serving us with their old age.

Young people should wait for their own time.
