Saturday 12th September, 2020 was a memorable day for all the residents of Ward A Bariga Local Council. Honourable Councillor representing the good people of Ward A, Deputy Leader Honourable Oyebona Olawale Mukaila put Smiles to the faces of private school teachers and he also gave account of stewardship tagged #MYIMPACT JOURNEY. According to Hon. Oyebona, the funding given to some private school teachers become necessary due to covid19 pandemic that has affected many businesses?.

The All Progressive Congress (APC) Party Chairman, Revd. Oyasodun Timothy (IYO) was in attendance, he gave the opening remarks. The chairman started his speech by giving thanks to the Almighty God who made the day a possibility to all of us, he recounted the development acknowledged in Bariga at large and affirmed confidence in the Council Chairman Hon Alabi Kolade leadership since inception of the administration.

"Oyebona Olawale Mukaila has done what we never expected from him, he has demonstrated good representation and justify the opportunity given to him, verily verily Oyebona Olawale is our golden son", he concluded.

Chief of Staff/S.A on Works to the Council Chairman, Honourable Oluwatoyin Adebomojo described Hon. Oyebona performance as the best in the history of all Ward A Councillors and by extension Bariga Councillors. However, he said Hon Oyebona understands the duties of a councilor in the community as a point of contact to all at the grassroot, he said.

Education Secretary of Somolu Local Government Hon Dare Martins (DM) appreciated the good initiative of the Councillor Oyebona, most importantly for focusing on the Education Sector as the Chairman house Committee on Education Bariga Legislative Arm.

"Education remain the bedrock of all Professions and the Councillor of Ward A has created a niche for himself as the Best Councillor in Bariga Local Council. Be rest assured of maximum corporation from my office as the E.S in support to your office, good people of Ward A and your educative initiatives.

According to the former SLG to Bariga Local Council Hon. Johnson Bode Sotomi (JBS), "we have never had program of this in Ward A, this is the first of it's kind to private school teachers and a very commendable initiative at this important timeout, the spirit Hon. Oyebona has shown he deserve much more opportunities in the future."

"Its important today to let you all know We have Work and Walk, myself and my team has made our drawing board the top priority in serving the masses. Immediately I assumed office I went on search of how best to use scale of preference in solving basic challenges affecting our immediate community we came with this following solutions

➕Free Jamb Tutorial
"As the Chairman House Committee on Education Bariga Legislative Arm, Education remain the best legacy and ofcos all parent desire for their children is to send them to tertiary institution of their choice.

"I started with free Jamb tutorial to assist parent that wish to send their children to the tertiary institution but could not afford some basic fee attached to it.

"Our Free Jamb Tutorial initiative has been running annually since my inception in office till date and my assurance is I will continue to sponsor the program even after my timeout in office because of its important to reduce illiterate among our young once in the community.

"Also through our Free Jamb Tutorial, our students has gain admission to different Universities, Polytechnic & College of Education in the country such as University of Lagos (Unilag), Lagos State University (LASU), Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), University of Ibadan (U.I), Ondo State University, University of Technology (Akure), Yaba Polytechnic, Federal College of Education Akoka among others to mention but few.

"The output of all our collective input gives us joy to always want to make more #Impact.

➕Functioning Water System
"We have assisted communities/ streets in ward A to bring back their water system to good and functioning status.

"When i assume office i understood the plights that some communities have to walk miles before they can have access to water rather than creating new one i fixed the existing one at Awomodu Street and Kusa Street.

➕ Precast Culverts
"Because we had good preference to the infrastructure sector, with the help of the Chairman Bariga Local Council who also DOUBLE as the National President Association of Local Governments Chairmen in Nigeria (ALGON) Honourable Alabi Kolade David contructed three precast culverts in Ward A which were Olaniyi/Rufia lane culvert, Olorunkemi/ Bashorun culvert and Oshipitan/ Egbogunrin culvert, and till I speak those culverts are strong and in use.

➕Widow
"Flash back during my 365 days anniversary in office we celebrated it with the widows from Ward A with some of our packages in stoke for them. We understood the challenges they are facing we assisted in our own little way for their support to the transformation agenda.

➕New Constructed Bole Hole
"While we celebrated our 2 years in office with the present of an active Council Chairman Honourable Alabi Kolade David (AKD) constructed a new bole hole for the good people of Ward A at Awomodu Street through the office of the Councillor, as i speak the bole hole is functioning fine, to compliments the effort of the Council Chairman and his kind gesture I also donated a befitted standby brand new generator to the community to serve them much better.

➕Convid19 Impact
"We can't forget so soon the memories coronavirus has registered into our heart and our daily activities, during the total lock down. We enjoy enough palliatives from the council chairman Honourable Alabi Kolade David as well as Lagos State Government.

"The assurance, support and steps taken by Hon. Alabi Kolade to give palliatives to the people gave us more confidence to tackle the plights of #CONVID19 in our constituency (Ward À).

"We will always reference and thank the ALGON PRESIDENT for all the kind gesture and love he has for the good people of Bariga Local Council.

➕Palliatives for Private School Teachers

"What we have done today is another way we have map out to assist our constituency in our little way, we have done this out of joy, passion for the Education Sector and the masses.

"Immediately we assume office some years back we had structure activities to assist the council chairman numerous efforts because he can't be everywhere but anywhere you see all of us we represent his capacity.

"I might not be able to disclose our next programs but I will encourage you all to make my consistency office your friend, feel free to visit during the official hours, because you did not run away from us when we needed you most, we won't run away from you now that you needed us in return.

➕Random Assistance
"We have rendered financial assistance personally to loads of residents and associates, i have also rendered non-financial assistance through my office to get opportunities down to the constituency and i have use the office to bridge the gap because I mind the gap.

"In conclusion, anytime we walk in the street not only because we were known to be son of the soil rather we understood the problem and how best we can assist.

"My apex gratitude goes to all our Apex Leaders in Ward A for the golden opportunity to serve and represent.

"Also my appreciation goes to all our Ward Leaders, SSAs, S.As, LGA Excos, Ward Excos, Women wing, men wing, Youth wing, party faithful, residents,friends, political associates without you the journey wouldn't have been impactful as this.

"To all our distinguished guests, Leaders and friends of the house from different Walk of life at the event, I appreciate your support.

"Once again, I thank you all".

However one of the beneficiaries who spoke on behalf of others Mrs. Odutayo Kehinde was unable to hide her happiness she describes the councilor as a cheerful giver and a man that understand others pain, she shower huge praise on him and pray may Almighty good creator continue to protect, bless, guard and guild all his affairs, as she lunched OYEBONA LEKANSI and echoed by the beneficiaries and leaders.
