I'm a graduate of Economics with about 2 years experience in Accounting. In between, I've had stint at Marketing.

Recently, I had an interview for the position of a Digital Marketer, with my basic knowledge of ICT and extensive knowledge in marketing I was able to wow them.

I've been called to pick up my offer letter, I'm still a novice in this field but willing to give it my all.

Somewhere in my heart, I still want to continue and grow as an Accountant but I'm well aware I can't have both of two different worlds.

I'm getting close to 30 and want to finally make a career decision, which do you think is good in the long term, Accounting or Digital Marketing?

I'm currently unemployed and have been learning the phone/ICT biz at Ikeja with a view to be self employed. The firm I seek to resume with is into computer and co sales.

Both are good but If I had to choose I would go for digital marketing.

It's actually easy to get into but very wide and has a lot of depth. Facebook ads, Google ads, SEO, LinkedIn ads etc. Once you can master those and show results you will be headhunted everywhere. You can also use digital marketing for yourself. If you are really good with digital marketing you can help in selling people's products through the internet. You would also need to learn copywriting. If I had to choose, I would choose Digital marketing.

Accounting too isn't bad. I see a lot of remote accounting jobs nowadays.

Why not take the digital marketing job to gain more experience and then look for remote jobs as an accountant or put in for the professionals exams so you don't lose your accounting skills. Accountants are still very much in demand.
