Click on the red letter on the post you quoted, it'll take you to the website of AliExpress where they sell it. Or go to Jumia and search for "DC Battery Monitor Meter 0-200V Volt"

You are a great man. Thanks.

Please is there any device I can use to automatically switch on/off my freezer.I have a separate inverter dedicated for fridge and freezer but most times because I am not at home during the day I am unable to take advantage of the sunshine at peak ours especially on days when IKEDC switches my area off.I intend to let the freezer run on such days between 12pm and 4pm .I was home today and connected manually between those ours and because sunshine was up battery was still at full capacity at 5pm when I switched off.If I had not been at home ,it would have been wasted energy as battery would have remained fully charged for nothing.

You can use a timer switch, sample attached. The other option is to use a Sonoff basic

The pic above looks like a manual timer socket, ojesky appears to be a big fan of it, i prefer the digital, much more flexible, and just 2k extra

Not really just the one that I found easily as it was on my order history. He should definitely go for the digital version if budget is not a constraint though am all for Sonoff now

I just checked on Youtube now and it does exists! Make i go find am.

Baba, what requirement would they need of my system to design one for me? My system will be a 12volt system (1 12v battery and a 12v inverter).

It's sold as is....just get one

Greetings to everyone here. The originator, the participants. You all have been selfless and wonderful

Came across this thread few days back, asked a question or two and got responses after which I had to go back to page 1(2012) and started reading and currently on page 40 grin.

Reached out to my OGATT (oga at the top) George_D. Yestda we spoke for a whole 18mins on his account. I was even rushing to conclude and save the selfless man all the stress and cost. I feel so indebted here. Sir I deeply and truely appreciate you.

Ever since I started reading, the comments, questions, answers from just too many persons to mention, the thread has been like an ebook to me. Can't sleep... Lol.. The more readings, the more clarity to the SM.. Where have I been. Omg!

"we" the newbies appreciate everyone here. You guys deserve more than "one Ferrari each honestly" . I appreciate.

Having said all that...i will ask a lot more questions here knowing/hoping it sure will be addressed.

I have lots of constraints majorly on finance so I may be asking lots of awkward questions to see if I can get in via the back door as close as possible thanks guys.

Franky, what a nice installation you have there. From the choice of materials, the set-up must have eaten some chunks of cash. Keep it up bro. Sorry not you

Since you are starting from the beginning, please when you get to the part that batteries were extensively discussed, please be kind enough to refer to it.
It is a section I would like to read again because it was very rich but too lazy to start looking for it.

In this arrangement, I used Automatic Transfer switch to select between public power and solar power. Timer switches were connected at the freezers socket outlets.

In this arrangement, I used 48v Overvoltage/Undervoltage Monitoring Relays in conjunction with timer switch to switch on and off freezers and water pump. This system used relays and contractors for loads switching.

NairaBaba, I don nearly exit when I read say you use PLC.
Arrange chairs make I rush bring very chill beers...

But that PLC na overkill o... ojeysky has implemented something similar using sonoff basic.

Please go ahead and post your ladder diagram.

I will post more details and the ladder program I wrote and still improving to run the PLC, Siemens Logo!8. Also answer questions, please let's wait till I post all the details before questions. Thanks

Wow, finally some who deploys PLCs for home applications. Can I see your wirings drawings.
For a simple home application, you went for the expensive semens?

A sonoff basic with a BMV or another battery monitor can give a fine grained control of freezer and water pump better than these analogue methods. With a raspberry pi, running node red, the possibilities are endless; running the freezer only within a time period, running freezer only when the battery is charging, within a certain SOC or within a voltage range.

So if you are like me with affinity for hot water bathe, you will agree that, there is no greater joy like having it flow directly from you tap non-stop for a couple of minutes just to cool your body.

Everyday after returning home from a hard days work, I retire to my home and quickly take a hot shower just to ensure my body system returns back to its normal setting. I enjoy hot water therapy everyday as a pain reliever which makes me feel better. I sleep well and wake up energized. This is like a luxury which i couldn't enjoy as my 30 litres Ariston heater could not give it to my heart desire. Also, since I started solar, I have moved the Ariston heaters in my house to it and the effect on my solar setup is not nice at all as it could be cloudy for days. Also, I always turn off power from the Ariston heaters then too as I wouldn't want any electric shock as you may not know when things can go wrong.

So with the desire to achieve that (after saving some coins anyway grin ), I quickly put a call to JUO to supply me with a Solar Water heater, let me just give it a try as I have seen the wonders it did to GeorgeD1 few years back. Without delay, the package arrived all the way from Warri. I didn't hesitate to set it up despite the fact that it is still raining heavily in Abuja. And my plumber was able to re-route the pipes to conform with the new solar water heater connection. It is a non-pressurized one so I added Pressure pump to it and its been amazing. Hot water gushes out like hell fire grin

My brothers and sisters, that's how I have been enjoying unlimited hot water in my house. Morning, Afternoon and Night. My kids self are not left out. Enjoyment. But really, the technology is amazing. It is amazing that the hot water could stay overnight and still stays hot. I still have to use the mixer to regulate it else, the hotness is enough to scald bodi ooo.

So what I also noticed was that, when you turn it on, you will first experience cold water and it depends on the length of your pipes before the hot water starts rushing out. It is worth giving a try. Am enjoying it.

Now my batteries can float for more than 3 hours daily . If you have the space and coins, then you can give it a try. Am sure you will wonder why you didn't start all this years. grin grin grin grin grin

*coins - money ( grin grin grin )

Setup with Siemens LOGO 8

The PLC takes analog inputs; Panel voltage, controllers
Current and battery voltage as 0-10v .

Panel voltage, controllers Current and battery voltage are converted to 0-10v by voltage and current transmitters, which can be read by PLC.

The Programmable logic controller gives you endless
Process variables ( Solar panel voltage and current, battery voltage, solar panel power production) control while minimising hardwares such as relays, contactors, switches etc. PLC makes changes to Solar set-up easy and flexible as changes are made in the PLC software . PlC are primarily for industrial control but there are relatively cheap PlCs in the market for home automation.

This is really massive! but am curious as to why Sonoff basic can't be a substitute to this? Especially since you have victrons. Just with a BMV, node-red on my pi and Sonoff basic(attached) am able to automate my freezer based on battery SOC and also utility status.

Waiting on my Sonoff basic pack to arrive make automation start, meanwhile anyone who has a basic R2 or R3 spare that can loan me pending when my R3s arrive should holla. There is a particular automation that I need to do like yesterday grin
