Governor Udom Emmanuel unveils a Coat of Arms and Flag for Akwa Ibom State as the State marks 33 years of existence since she was created on September 23rd 1987 by the military Head of State Ibrahim Badamossi Babangida

The Coast of Arms and Flag as forwarded to 9news Nigeria was unveiled today by the Governor with comprehensive explanations of what all the features stand for on each of them and their respective designers were also mentioned

I'm not from Akwa Ibom but I'm proud of the state.

And since the gov is a Nigerian, his chances of becoming a president is very high.

I like the flag becsuse it's easily recognizable and simple enough for any kid to draw. The coat of arms are okay.

The flag looks ugly , the colors look weak . go look at flags of great countries & states and tell me if they have any of those colors. The coat of arms okay,except the odd lion. Lion is Calabar Ekpe symbol and Akwa ibom has Ekpo not Ekpe . The oil rig should not be in the emblem because oil is a fleeting resource ,instead it should be replaced with a cultural symbol like the seafood and palm trees symbols which stands the test of time . Did the citizens have options to vote for flag? doesn't look like it .
