Man Released From Ikoyi Prison After 7 Years For A Crime He Knew Nothing About (Photo)

A Nigerian man has been released from Ikoyi prison in Lagos state on Thursday, September 24 2020, after spending 7 years in there for a crime he knew nothing about, IgbereTV reports.

Lawyer and writer, Malachy Odo, who facilitated his released, recounted how he got involved in helping the man secure his freedom.

Odo tweeted:

''7 years in Ikoyi Prisons. Raided at Oworonshoki and roped into a crime he knew nothing about. His brother-in-law reached out to us here late last year & God sealed his release today.''

Glory be to God Almighty.

While we sleep and wake up daily without appreciating what God is doing for us! We complain of being broke and unhappy, no matter the situation you are, some people are looking up to hat position, you are better of than many people! while many people are better than you! Imagine spending 7 YEARS in a NIGERIAN prison for a crime you did not commit! imagine the pains, the agony, the mental torture, the physical torture, the health challenges, the stigma and all that for a crime you never committed! If nah better country now i would have advised him to sue and get millions like his counterparts in developed nations. But since nah 9ja I'm sure he's already on hus way to church.... Testimony time

There are plenty innocent talents wasting in prisons all over the world
Some of them were picked up because they were at the wrong place, and didn't even get a chance to call their people.

So sad... There are a lot of people like him , locked up.for crimes they didn't commit .. the government doesn't even try to provide an attorney for them , police isn't interested in investigation ...

Very sad one and there are a lot down there oh!
The PTSD this guy will be going through right now coupled with the stigmatization from people around. I pray he bounces back stronger.
