I am trying to make an application for my mum for a TRV but I don't know what to do about the column requesting for a flight itinerary or hotel booking. Don't want to book flight before visa is approved/denied.

This is really frustrating. I applied on the 30th of January.
I am not happy with these guys at all. No other country delays visa application like Canada. Haba

Sorry....I was also frustrated until I called them at VFS today and I was told my passport has been returned back to them... maybe you should call VFS ...if nothing raise a webform.... maybe it will help ...I truly understand ur frustration

I have raised a Web form. I am still waiting for their response.
I chatted with vfs today, same story. The painful thing is that I have bought a ticket to travel to Europe in May but because of Covid-19, I couldn't make it. Now I want to travel next month because my Schengen visa expires in November.

Wao....God will create a way out... honestly there should be something you can do when I was despite last month The VFS office said the only option is to terminate the process....but even if it is terminated what is the assurance that the passport will be pass back fast ...the only wise solution is to pray and raise a webform pleading, also attach your flight booking and others as evidence of urgency because terminating after all the waiting is a choice I will like you to make ... another thing is if u have someone in Canada to request for your GCMS notes from there it takes about 15 days that will give you a clear picture of what is happening....

Thank you so much for the encouragement. I have reviewed all options available to me, cancelling the application will be unwise as you have also pointed out after 8 months of waiting. It is well jare. That's why online application is better sometimes, at least, I will have my passport with me

I see @bolded...I was wondering why they had your passport. I did online application and have my passport with me but this is quite bad sha. Never had a visa process this long and frustrating tbh.

@ all who contributed on way or the other a word of encouragement to my worries I say thank you and to everyone who is expecting feed back from IRCC Ur day of fulfilment is around the corner just hang in there It will be well..... To cut the long story short I GOT MY passport return today.

Funnily I didn't even have access to my application.... I got a job with the influence of my sister who is a PR in Canada... And my employer engaged the services of an immegration consultant and the process started from April, 2019 till March 10th 2020, ... covid delay passport return till yesterday. .. but the process of interview and LMIA is very tedious... I wouldn't advice anybody to walk dat route I had patience because age and IELTS average score can't allow me go through express entry or school. And it's my sister so I kept on following as the process kept on crawling like snail.. but .. Am grateful to God immensely

Yeah sent web form twice, called the Canadian embassy at Abuja, I was told my application is being processed at Nairobi, I was given an email address to lay a complain, they replied my webform inquiry that my application is still processing.

Nope. Travel restrictions still in place. Except you are a family member of a PR or Citizen.

dont waste your money with licenced agents. They have no magic wand or special quota. If you do not qualify for the visa you will still get denied.
