[s]Oba of Lagos till 1956 was a Baale Position.
It was the Slave Ports and Markets in Isale Eko that made him a Powerful Merchant Prince who traded with the Europeans.
The Awori themselves were not that keen on the Slave trade
I have posted the book link on Osifekunfe already he didn't need to be in Lagos to get his story published just as Gustavus Vassa also published his own Slave narrative in Engliand.[/s]
Oba of Lagos was never a baale position... U can't prove it...

The link u posted claims that he never returned. So if he never returned, how did he know abt a war that never happened given the level of technology then...

The same paschal that interviewed said this..

Let me bring these disconnected pages to a close, a hasty collection of incomplete data drawn from an unexpected source [Osifekunde] and one that too soon became silent. Especially during my work of coordination I have become conscious of many important gaps that remain to be filled; but I no longer have Osifekunde to answer my questions, and I can only offer the results of our long and often fruitless conversations

So what now makes ur osifekunde claim become fact

Osifekunde's facts are what is on ground in Lagos today. Ijebu still owns and rules over large parts of Lagos.

Go and check it yourself!!

Oba of Lagos doesn't even have jurisdiction over Ikoyi on the same Island.

Obviously u have accepted that u've lost the argument and u are now straw clutching like a dieing man... See what I wrote at the beginning of the thread correcting the other moniker
Besides... There is a reason why people say obas are not historians

https://m.guardian.ng/sunday-magazine/lagos-oba-traces-origin-to-benin/

From the same rilwan akiolu... He never talked abt the Ijebu because they never came for war

Etinosa1234:
The Awori owned it... The best thing to say is that it was a vassal of the Benin kingdom
So can u now prove how ijebu defeated Benin to reconquer Lagos or u want to run away as usual

Lemme help u...

Tho... There are controversy on where ashipa was from but most evidences point to the fact that ashipa was a Benin commander who had his name converted from aisikpa-hienvborre to ashipa... But Oba ado was born and brought up in Benin... His name was Edo wic was converted to Ado by the Yoruba pple...

Do ur research cheesy
