Sometimes to tell history unbiased, we don't have to sieve out the uncomfortable truth.

Ronaldo has a history of making comments like,"If only the players around me could play up to my level, we'd have won this match" as his defense when his team loses. Messi has never done so and would never throw his teammates under the boss to exonerate himself of any blame.

This has to be pointed out to further corroborate the stance that Messi rarely ever criticises the club and when he does, it's never been from a selfish standpoint.

Are you going to fault me for pointing out Ronaldo's behavioural shortcomings now?

Stop consoling yourself with a player that has no strings attached to the abysmal performance of your team and the Star player in the last 5 UCLs.

If you are chairman of an organisation, would you like to be constantly undermined by your employee? Just because this employee is Messi, makes no difference.

Besides, the blames of present rot in the club shouldn't be squarely laid on the board alone. The playing squad, of which Messi is an integral part, haven't covered themselves in glory either. After a very bad year, no one escapes reckoning when it finally arrives. If your team underperformed, every one of you will be under the microscope. If you think you performed well yet the sum total of the team's performance is alarming, then it means you're definitely doing something wrong.

You are trying so hard to isolate Messi from taking blame for the being part of the rot. But I can give alot of games where Messi dropped disaster class performance.

And yes, I'm not a barca fan or a messi fan, but I'll isolate a player who scores and assist 20+ goals and assist each in just the league. A job of an attacker is to score and/ or assist and he did that immensely.

If others couldnt do their part, then it's no fault of his.

There's a reason a player can win best player, even if his team isn't the champion. It's because they acknowledge that he performed his role excellently well even if he teammates were flopping
