Use your heads, all the South Eastern States cannot stand independently because they cling to FG feeding bottle.SW is the richest region in Nigeria especially with Lagos and Ogun states.
If push comes to shove,SW will easily pay off their debts because they have the highest IGRs,most industrialized etc.
Anambra which is a poor state hanging on the feeding bottle of the FG has the highest external debt.
.SE is not known as the poverty power house of the south for nothing.

Awon IGR people, how market?

America remains No1 deptor in the world, follow by Japan and China. Despite the dept, they remain most developed, richest and advanced nations of the world. For south west to be in debt is a sign of advancement and dynamism in that region compare to static and stagnant regions in Nigeria. They borrow them money because they know they have resources and internal revenue to pay back within the stipulated time.

Not in dept means backwardness and inability to even payback because of stagnance. Nobody will borrow you if they they know you lack capability to pay back, otherwise, country like America is not supposed to get borrow funds again due to her present debt status already

Ogun has more industries and generates more igr than the entire south east

Ibadan has more bank branches, cinema, malls, shoprite, uber than the entire south east

Ekiti has more professors than the entire south east.

IMO state has the highest number of professors...ibadan express journalism on the beat

You forgot that USA and all those countries you mentioned are not insolvent. They borrow because they can pay. SW borrow what they can't pay.

Again you forgot that most US debts are held within US, even if they start paying today, there will be minimal capital flight. Do you even know a large portion of those debts are inter-governmental debts? Like Dept of State borrowing from Defence dept?

Most of the debt is held within the country and large proportion is interdepartmental transfers.
