Now I understand. Because I was wondering why will soldiers be the one to stop you again when the op is only interested in keeping SARS away. So tell Op Now that, not only SARS involve ooo. Soldiers too can stop and harass him like SARS.

True sha, but I think it all boils down to the how you carry yourself, I was once stopped by Sars in Benin, I intimidated them without knowing (these people look for ways to trap people), they called me down and to my surprise they couldn't find anything, to speak to me they couldn't, they were literally afraid of me, to the point of not even telling that I should go...I walked out of them into my brothers car

People around there who was driving and passing couldn't help but stand in awe, the officer was embarrassed!

Dear op, u already know that muscle camry..corrola 03,04,07 ...Lexus rx350 are all Yahoo boys motor...so try something matured like rav4 06,07 or highlander 2011,2012 or get a used 2.7 litre engine white hilux.,.honda pilot 03,04,05 too are strong cars with less recognition

@op just buy a Toyota 4runner or highlander or probably a Rav 4. They may stop u, remain calm and address them politely. Also always leave for Ur destination 2 hrs earlier cos police may likely waste 10-20 mins of Ur time.
Usually when u are in a hurry u get agitated and this can trigger them to delay u which may end in tears.
I use a c300 2010 model, and each time I drive thru d highway I always get pulled over and whenever dey come around me, I greet them, they request for my particulars and search often times they are baffled by my calmness and would normally ask me for something to buy pure water. If I have I give and when I don't have I just tell them e no dey.

Show composure when harassed, seek out the O.C and reason with him (learn how to avoid falling into the famous good cop bad cop trap). Ensure your car's paperwork is complete - this cannot be overemphasized.

Avoid tints (original permit or not) and any ricing that will mark you. I travel interstate a lot with a Mercedes W212 E Class, it's fancy, the first thing they look out for is tint and insist I wind up if glasses are down. Secondly, papers to check if the Ts are crossed and Is dotted. Thirdly, an ID. Then oga anything for the boys? once they are satisfied.

Big man I greet you. I get the point very well, the SARS situation is very disheartening and the profiling of well to do young men on our roads is very sad to say the least. I've driven in Lagos (briefly), Asaba, Port Harcourt, Calabar and Abuja extensively. All these areas are hotspots for SARS and their unlawful shakedowns.

I've had my fair share of problems with SARS, and on all occasions they quickly reach for their firearms like you've rightly noticed, in order to intimidate me. I don't panic at all, I don't call for favors immediately (only once and I didn’t have my tint permit and had to make sure we were driving to Zone 6 Hq and not an ATM). Maybe an 03-05 Corolla or Civic will let him fly under the radar. Any SUV above 2004/5 isn't cheap and those crooks know the value of cars too.

One day na one day, him and dem go gats settle off records for road. Inside the city/town I don't offer them a single kobo and I drive cars that are kinda distinct which means all of us know each other for the roads I frequent, but on the highways when traveling, I keep #200 and #500 notes handy and obey Mathews 5:25 religiously. I don't argue, just stretch out my hands briefly and bless whoever reaches them first and be on my way. I've never had problems obeying the law of the jungle. You travel a lot I presume and as such know first hand that they don't stand where there's good network reception or good roads to outgame their checkpoints.

As for EFCC - they do targeted raids in mostly clubs and highbrow quarters (Again, I co-run a club so I know this first hand). They won't stop him on the road, that job is left for their fellow red jacket wearing NDLEA brothers. As long as his business is clean, he won't have issues with either men in red.
