Goodmost of us want earthly power rather than spirituail power

Power: Some pastors leave their previous church over disagreement on certain issues. They wanted things to go a certain way. The senior pastor rejected and they angrily left to form their own church where they would be the one taking decision. These want to be in charge of every decision making process. They appoint the choir leader, welfare head,drama coordinator etc. They will tell the leader the song to sing . Whoever disagrees with him is removed and replaced with a O-Yes members who agrees to all he says .. Questioning them is the same as challenging their a ithority .


They hardly take correction.Criticise their action and they curse you and your generation. Insult them and get beaten .They are easily identified by their tendency to shout while preaching despite the numerous microphone and loudspeaker. They love to issue command..They are annoited and you are not and that makes them superior to you.They can be proud ,pumpous and boastful.. Their favorite Bible verses are Touch not my annoited and do my prophet no harm and The kingdom of God suffereth violence…….taketh it by force. The first verse prevents you from criticizing him while the later gives him licence to be violent.


The first way to do this is by listening to his words. God calls for a reason . He calls to deliver a message. He sentMoses to tell pharoah to “let my people go “. The miracles he performed were secondary. He sent to teach the laws which did not exist at that time.Jesus was sent to preach the message of salvation to the people. He taught love and forgiveness different from vengeance which the pharasees were known for.To identify a God sent, compare his message with that of his predecessor . The greater the difference, the more you can be sure he is sent by God.God sent founders have a unique message or doctrine that stands them apart from the rest. If there is no difference,that is a red flag.


We can guage the zeal to spread the message. God-sent pastors move from one place to another. They are on the look out for people who are yet to receive the message. They teach the people for some time and leave to teach another group. They are like doctors searching for patients.They do not wait for members to seek them . They understand that whoever consciously seek the church is half saved. They go for those that are not in church .They are missionaries. Missionaries do not stay in a place forever. Does your general overseer still engage in street evangelism? Does he assign the task to members? Is he too big and busy for that? How often does your general overseer go to the northern part of the country. Are they scared of getting killed. Would he rather build a fifty thousand capacity auditorium in the south where Christianity is the dominant religion.

God-sent pastors are willing to thrive despite opposition. They do not succomb to the risk. They are willing to die in other to spread the message. Moses was a wanted man after killing the Egyptian, yet he courageously walked up to him to deliver the message. Jesus knew he would be killed. He persistently spread the good news. The early left their comfortable homes to a poor continent -Africa to spread the message. These missionaries died of mosquitoes. More missionaries trooped in. The urge to spread the message is stronger than their love for their own life. Can your General Overseer live in the North with for five years in other to strengthen the faith of Christians there? Can he die for the message?

There is absolutely nothing wrong for one to decide to build his own church. It is a free world. What is wrong is telling members that you are God sent. That is deceit. Lying in the name of God should be discouraged

When we say attend a good theology school, they won't. You have one dream and you say God has called you. You open a Church.

In all of these power power power. The highest thing you need is Wisdom. Wisdom is needed to use you the power. I have seem many anointed powerful pastors who are annoyances to their society because of lack of Wisdom.

You are right , But it is not like that in every case , some people can be gifted the power to speak in tongues, revelation or visions and not have the power of the holy Spirit.
The disciples of Jesus were already assured of the power of the holy Spirit and they spoke in different toungues and healed the sick

Guy, stop mis interpreting the Bible. what you should focus on is to have the Holy Spirit. when you have the Holy Spirit, you will have the power to heal the sick and the power of other gifts if you are in that ministry. And please there is no power to speak in tongues. speaking in tongues is for every Spirit filled Christian. study your Bible please

A noble sentiment.

Desiring spiritual gifts is beautiful _ most especially to prophesy. Although these are different manifestations, yet it is the same Spirit. We are to make space for the Holy spirit in our lives by offering our vessels through complete surrender of our vessel, ambitions, dreams and preference. He will then manifest through us on a case by case basis that which will most edify the body of Christ.

Do point out that though the gift is free yet upon the receiving we will sometimes lost many rights to things which are not sin but which are not expedient to growth.

My comment does not portray the denial of the existence of spirits and demons.
But the acquisition of powers to cast them out.
The law of attraction is a major player. Many a times, we create problems for ourselves where there was never a problem.
These things exist but they only affect those who ascribe relevance to them...those who call on them whether negatively or positively...those who think about them...those who look for them. And like I said, it is common among Christians.
You see someone who was living innocently before, oblivious of the operation of these figures, but as soon as the person is told that something/someone is after him, he will start making proclamations that will actually attracts these things to himself thereby afflicting him.
They exist but only manifest when one makes them real.

You see demons, spirits and stuff, but if you ignore their existence, you will never be bothered and you may eventually stop seeing them.
Irrespective of what I have said, who you are and your believe system is a deciding factor...which is a function of your choice.
I have my own way of life, and I know you have yours too. You choose what to believe.

Prayers for this power is good..But this powers are gifts of the spirit... Everyone shouldn't have all..We all have our peculiar gifts and callings.

Hmmm! Powers! Everybody loves power. Really, without power, it's as good as not being alive. Even if nobody touches you, you can't touch anything good or significant in life without it.

However, it will interest anyone reading this to know that all of those mentioned powers above all flow through one source. Painfully many Christians are not aware of this.

You may have the thousand fruits on a tree, they are all produced via one stem and root.

So, what's that one source of these powers?

Jesus said "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all of these things shall be added unto you".

Everything in this life are included in that ALL in that verse of the scripture.

Now, this is where a lot of people who have been quoting this verse since they got born without the understanding of its meaning.

Jesus also said, "The kingdom of God is within you". He never said among you, to presuppose Jesus was referring to these group of people who were not even believers yet then. Rather, He was exposing to them a mystery that has been hidden for ages according to Col.1:24-27.

Since creation in the garden of Eden, God planted the kingdom of God in the inside of the first couple, though represented by His glory upon their lives. It encompasses the totality of what exists in heaven right there in that garden.

The glory of God is not a smoke like that of incense or cloud in the sky, it is the display of His power. Adam and Eve enjoyed that glory till they broke the instructions given to them in disobedience and the glory left, which is what God meant by saying "....you shall die if you touch that tree of the knowledge of good and evil"

The glory was so tangible that they were not aware that they were naked until the glory departed. In other words, the glory is so many things, including a covering. While the glory was still over them, their unclothedness was known to them or to even the serpent.

This is the reason for the statement in Rom.3:23.

"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of the Lord". What sin did was and still is the removal of God's glory.

Finally, when Jesus came to the Earth, he didn't come to take us to heaven but to restore the lost glory which made heaven to be in the garden of Eden.
