SAVE HER by Correct Bro Gone are the days when we used to cook fried rice with chicken to celebrate Independence Day. The days when the streets were painted with green and white. The days when clothing stores are packed with green and white shirts ready to be sold... The days when people were itching to hear the 7 o clock speech from our president Gone are the days when we see great match past from our children, our youths, our military, our civil servants. What has happened to her? Is she sick? Can she be revived? Is she dead? So many questions with simple answers but complicated solutions. The doctors handling her are not capable but won't let go. They threaten to kill you if you want to save her. They keep all her breast milk to themselves and allow her seed to die of starvation. They throw drops of milk to silent the few grown ups who can talk and lock up the ones who refuse the epileptic offer. They continually give her wrong dosage of her medicine. They leave her in a dark ward where the noise of generators worsen her case. They use the police to prevent her from being saved. They only come to her seed when they want to rotate the leadership of the hospital. No wonder the great Chinua Achebe said "There was a country" Oh But... Can we save her? Who will save her? How are we going to save her? I don't have the answers, I don't have the finance to save her, I don't have the voice to save her but with the power of all her seeds, we can save her. It is an Independence Day but not a Happy independence day SAVE NIGERIA copied* |

I'm back after A 2 weeks ban. The Admin/Moderator that banned me and whoever masterminded my being banned, I promise you, you will SUFFER FOR 600 YEARS IN JESUS NAME AMEN. You did not only ban me, you went and wiped off my post on my threads. Posts I suffered to write to help sensitize people who are suffering from incurable sickness and diseases. YOU AND WHOEVER MASTERMINDED MY BANNING, I Promise you, your suffering just began. Do you know how many lives God has used me to save through what I do here and you are depriving them of such opportunity. Only if you know. When you know, it will be too late for you. When you will need help, you shall not find it for what you did. Do me a favor and block my account. You are not God. You will suffer all the sufferring I've been suffering since I finished school so you will know how it feels. In Jesus name Amen. |

Can we start by changing this country name? This will definitely change the destiny of this country and may change the way other perceive us and the Nigeria factors. The income government should use this as one of their campaign mantra and we will buy into reconstruction. HARD FACT HBD Nija |

Cleanworld:Why change the name when you can peacefully divide the country to smaller countries comprising of people of similar cultural, traditional and religious beliefs so they can see themselves as one people with one common goal Which will foster unity of purpose and direction and hence lead to security of lives/properties and of course common prosperity for each region.Nigeria is not working, what's holding Nigeria together is Hausa-Fulani + Yoruba greed for Niger Delta crude oil, nothing more, nothing less.....let the crude oil dry up or let the value of crude fall to $1 per barrel as its currently heading to, and watch Hausa-Fulanis and Yorubas demand for division of Nigeria. Niger Delta people ought to be the ones championing for peaceful division of Nigeria now that crude oil still have some market value in the international market |

Nice write up. Shows we're not where we used to be. But our indomitable generations care less about their country's history. |

Islie:Thanks for this! This is by far the most insightful "eulogy" I've read today. It gives the reader (especially millennials) an insight into the state of the country at different times in it's history. The frequent sarcasm and ironies also made it an interesting read. Thanks for sharing. ![]() |

60 miserable Years. What's there to celebrate? The hopelessness that pervades the citizens from east to west to north to south? The poverty? the hunger? 60 yrs of earning trillions of dollars with absolutely next to nothing to show for it in terms of improving the lives of the citizens? Till we get it right 1st Oct should be declared "National wailing day" Cos its certain our leaders have ruined the opportunity of having a nation that should be competing with the best of the best. To think we started at the almost same the Same time as south Korea is deeply depressing. While the Koreans are competing with the best we are in competition with failed nations like Somalia despite all our resources. Nepotism, tribalism, religious intolerance, winner takes all mentality and the born to rule mentality has made sure we remain amongst the worst in terms of development. Shame our leaders have been competing amongst themselves who is the better one in terms of failure. |
