When it favours them, they dont hesitate to compare. But tell them tomorrow that minimum wage in Saudi Arabia is 3,000 Riyals (the equivalent of 304,980naira) or that their citizens enjoy free health care and free education at all levels and they will remind you that Nigeria is not Saudi Arabia. This Buhari and those who advise him are a bunch of dumbos.
u are a person of great sense..

I believe this time around, he wont say it is misinterpretation, because it is now obvious that he has failed in delivery of his mandate to Nigerians.

I pray this remaining 3 years should just come and go, so he disengages from that position.

Because his presence and leadership to me is as good as not having a president

Well, here iis what the BuBU was really tryiing to sy

1.Saudi Arabia produces 11 million barrels of crude per day, Nigeria produces less than 2 mmillion a day
2.Saudi Arabia has 34 million people, Nigeria has 200million peple
3.As a result...this is important...Saudi Arabia earns far more money from oil than does Nigeria, and as such has fewer people to spend it on.
4.Thus the amount oof money Saudi Arabia has to spend on subsidising fuell is far more than what Nigeria has
5.Also, it costs far less to produce oll in Saudi than it des in nIGERIA.Saudi oil is mostly in the desert, Nigerian oil is in highly populated mangrove, and 60% is offshore...which increases costs for a variety oof reasons
6.Subsequently, the price that we need crude oil at to have enough money for our needs? It is $139 per barrel. Saudi needs oil at $80 per barrel
7.We don't have the money with oil below $75 per barrel since 2014 tosubsidse fuel...and as a result NIGERIA has been taking loans to help pay for susidising fuel. Our refinereis are in a baad state because price controls prevent the from being profitable enough to run effectively
8.So, as much as i hate to sy this, and as much as i don't like apc OR PDP, Buhari is right. We cllaim he should not be comparing us to Saudi, yet we want to buy oil at prices cheaper at Saudi without the income the Saudis have availablle to subsidise fuell
9.And the TUC and even Buhari are partly to blame. 9 years ago, they joined hands to stop GEJ from partaly remving subsides , and since then we have wasted 5 -6 trillion naira on subsidy paayments. AND BORROWED to help pay for more suubsides.
10.At least Bhari has kinda seen the light(He has to scrap PPRA, and allow marketers control the price bfore i start taking him serious).TUC seems to think that we can somehow import fuel above 200 naira per liter and sell it at N40 per liter wiithoout it having an end efect on our economy, or without peoople smuggling fuell to Chad to sell at 346 per liter, or Niger to sell at the same price...and make a profit.
11. OIL SUBSIDY MUST GO. Since 1993, when Baroness Chalker came to speak the truth, and we called her an imf agent.
Why do we still import fuel
Re: TUC: Comparing Nigeria With Saudi Arabia Ridiculous by onatisi(m): 6:32am On Oct 02, 2020
Buhari has been talking rubbish since his first day in office but yet Nigerians love him and voted for him twice ,so why are people complaining?

All of us that warned Nigerians about Buhari and what he will do to have prepared ourselves for all this ,because to be forewarned is to be forearmed, Buhari will still increase that electricity bill and fuel price at least twice before he leaves office and the only thing that will happen is paper riot or Twitter riot.

when he was not in power pmb told us that there is nothing like subsidies, and if we buy fuel more than sixty naira the govt is exploiting the mass, therefore he should blame himself!!!!

Is fuel being sold at same price in Mexico, US and Canada? Why are people not smuggling fuel in those countries
Re: TUC: Comparing Nigeria With Saudi Arabia Ridiculous by bhella10: 6:39am On Oct 02, 2020
Whoever wrote that speech should be demoted. Such a warped comparison. Nigeria and Saudi should never be mentioned in the same breath. I totally agree with TUC on this one. Buhari goofed big time. The problem this country has right from when democracy started is who we voted for and not really the party.

I understand your points bro. However, mismanagement of fund led us to this poor situation. With higher resources, Saudi may better than Nigeria but not as wide as this. Just replace Nigeria leaders with Saudis, you would see how that country would erode to the level of Nigeria. It's right some countries may better than Nigeria but we could not be worse to the extent of lacking basic infrastructures considering the level of resources we have. South Africa, Egypt should not have better infrastructure and basic life than us.

you are saying thrash, subsidy is passing importation cost on Nigerians which does not make sense, solution is to build refineries ,then Nigerians can pay the cost reflective prices, the government is just punishing Nigerians for electing a dumb government
Also serious governments have one subsidy or the other for their citizens which one does Nigeria gives. The government should do it s job first of providing refineries then we can talk of appropriate price, not this importation stuff that will always move up as the exchange rate move up

I wonder why TUC is complaining, when organised labour failed to hold this insensitive government to ransome, this is what you get when a country is being run with such impunity. organised labour has failed nigerians yet again. so they themselves should stop complaining, they had their chance at the negotiating table but did absolutely nothing. its so unfortunate that its the common man that will continue to feel the impact of this government's insensitivity
