HigherEd:
Give electricity to private sector to generate at controlled pricing. How hard can this be.

Brazil today, with about the same population as Nigeria and classified as a developing country produces over 100, 000 megawatts of electricity. Allow private sector with competition and pragmatic price control (no subsidy), with fair margin for profitability and decades of tax breaks to reduce the overall cost burden.

We all know this sector would likely never improve until it is properly privatized.
The people in govt then privatized it to themselves and retained the monopoly structure of old NEPA with a view towards maximizing their profit.

A proper privatization and removal of any law forcing gencos to sell to TUC handlers is the only way out.

Why won't these people allow state governments that can afford it generate power? This should free up the grid for states that cannot. I don't know why our leaders continue to do something when it's obvious that it cannot work. They have been increasing it for ages and nothing seems to change. They take delight in punishing the citizens so they can oil their pockets.
We should ask ourselves who this current model we are practicing in our electricity sector benefits. Us or a few cabals.

We all know that.
Revelation 2:5 KJV
Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

That means you guys are having constant light and are at list paying for what you use.

Some don't see light up to one week in a month, yet they pay the full amount for estimation.

Even if they are trying to paint themselves good, the masses are aware that Buhari is a fraudster. Every action of this government is anti people and we all know where everything will end. Every sensible individual knows that this country can't work. The best is to put in more efforts and work harder.
Was it President Buhari, or Jonathan that signed this so called electricity agreement in 2013, that got Nigeria into these mess?

Stop showing your ignorance & talking rubbish, Federal Government only controls TCN, and they claim it is for security reasons. Who owns Gberegu generation company (Femi Otedola), who owns Pacific Generation company ( Omo Baba Olowo Adeleke), who owns Kainji Dam Generation company (Mainstream Energy), just to mention a few.
