Electricity Workers Call Off Strike by Loveurneighbour: 8:56pm On Aug 17, 2022
National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) has called off its nationwide strike.

The decision followed an emergency meeting with the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige on Wednesday.

The minister’s spokesman Olajide Oshundun, announced that Ngige intervened in the industrial action.

NUEE Secretary General, Joe Ajaero, assured that electricity would be restored across the country tonight.

The workers shut down all Transmission Companies of Nigeria (TCN) offices earlier today.

Some people will not have a wink tonight. They will count the asbestos sheets of their ceilings if in EnuGU and the rafters if in Umunnede till daybreak. They now claim to love what once they called The Zoo more than any other people in Nigeria, and they've promised to "take their country back"! These are early days yet their desperation is already showing. People who only last night called the Yoruba Unity Beggars and Fulani Asslickers, who called the northerners Cows are now all out to seek the votes of these same Animals of The Zoo for their Third Class degree graduate of philosophy now posing as an alumnus of London School of Economics. Their Bingo has returned to its vomit, they who before now were beating the drums of disintegration for our Fatherland. But in vain their drummers beat their drums, when no be say our God de sleep! God wey no de sleep or slumber.

How i wish ASUU was treated like this too. Every sector of the economy is feeling the clumziness of Apc in addressing issues.. Important sectors of the economy{manufacturing,production,storage,business,E-learning, etc} are driven by power, even though power isn't steady,it still controls them. This is why developed countries of the world don't joke with it.. ****** My neighbourhood is noisy right now because everyone has turned one his/her generator.
