You guys have been warned before about BCIE, those guys will receive your COE and won't tell you, it happened to me so please contact the school by mail or if you have someone over there to call them directly coz that's what I did and I later realized the school has sent the COE almost immediately after paying school fees. BCIE will intensionally tell Deakin not to copy you in the mail. If I were you I would act fast. ASAP And contacting them don't act naive sound confident sokia4real: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Hello guy, how do you see this. I am currently in Ukraine, I am planning of coming to Australia to do 1 year business certificate course after then i will apply to another 2 years program in any University/college so that i can get my two years post study permit. Please is it a Good plan. I need advice for me on this journey? |
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Ilias2: 5:51am On Oct 04, 2020 |
Ligogu: Just go for your masters straight and check to see if you could get subsidised tuition in the form of scholarship. They are currently encouraging people to enrol and using that as a strategy to entice student. Dont waste your time doing 1 year diploma and going for 2 years again. Not worth it 1 Like |

#My Perspective I am open to correction and more enlightenment Well, it's an open fact that Coronavirus impacted all. Countries economy negatively and that's including Australia but it's also worthy of note that all state in Australia are doing pretty good(Perth even had a budget surplus from their 2020 allocated budget. I.e., more than enough money) with the exception of Melbourne which is just easing the recent lockdown and I actually read few hours ago or so that many folks in Melbourne flocked to the beach few days back without nose mask and following the covid 19 safety protocols or so. Be that as it may, on the police remembrance day which happened last week, Scott Morrison said 750,000 jobs have been recovered and all states with the exception of Melbourne are doing great wrt bringing the lost jobs back. Though, i am actually calm and looking to see what the 2021 budget that will be made public on the 6th October or so looks like to know and understand the next steps of Australia economy recovery. the above points is just to show anyone reading that I'm doing my best to get informed about the economy situation. Now, the bone of contention is about this tution fee stuff. Taking myself for example, my tution fee for the 2yr program is over A$70,000 and its only the elite which is less than 10% of Nigerians can comfortably say they can afford to have the full tuition fees before going to Australia to study and huge part of those elite prefers to send their ward to the USA, Canada and the UK than Australia for the best reason known to them(i stand to be corrected, I'm just giving out a theory). I don't find it comfortable when some people come in here to discourage us(myself included) from going to study in Australia because we don't have the full 2 year tution fee and I hope i have been able to clarify the question that's always popping up about having full tution fee before thinking of studying in Australia. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Smile4mee01: 4:22am On Oct 05, 2020 |
Isha113: Skilled occupation list. You can also use Google to check. Before I came to Australia, I read nairaland for all fora in Australia for weeks, I even enter India fora on migrating to Australia. I know it's not easy, but try and do the work. Many agents dont even know what's happening here. Theirs is just to give you admission and help with Visa application and collect commision from university. |

Ikjosh04: I haven't come across anyone discouraging people from studying in Australia. Everyone says make sure you have your first year tuition at hand. Yes, there are jobs in Australia but it took me almost a year to get a good paying job that could pay my tuition and that includes after asking for extension and in some cases taking out loans to meet up with the deadline despite my "good paying job". Do you want people to paint an unrealistic version of Australia and then get accused of lying ? Just because ScoMo said that 750k jobs will be recovered doesn't necessarily mean it will in all sectors. Once people gets here they realise they are on their own and except you come across angels disguised as humans to help you in times of need, it will be really hard sometimes. I think this all comes down to understanding what people wrote in the context they did and getting clarification where needed. 6 Likes 1 Share |

zorani:Despite the Covid, I would say Covid for me has been a blessing in disguise. Yes, its not the best of times especially for some people. I worked at the Casino and was shut down, but I have other source of income going. BUT THEN AGAIN, I had 4 jobs and 3 on the line that I declined. Now, don't get it twisted, even though, I was lucky, so many people are still having issue getting a job. The job market here in Australia is mostly about recommendation. But never have the mindset like Lagos hustle, its not easy maintaining your time, studying at the same time and regulating your mental health. So in short, I encourage you to try. PREPARE FOR THE UGLY,BAD AND GOOD. |

Nice feedback!! No one is saying the process is gonna be Easy but it's definitely gonna be worth it at the end. Information is key and like I always say "One of the central ideas of learning (academic culture) is that Knowledge develops through debate and arguments" Ciao! AussieJoan: Ilias2: |
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Ilias2: 12:18pm On Oct 05, 2020 |
AussieJoan: That's 100% true. .. I agree with you. Essentially, when coming, plan ahead. Even so, qyou get a job 3 weeks after you come, you need to generate an average of 11,000 for your 2nd semester tuition and for you to be able to work effectively, you would need a car. Since its your first job, they require you to work on most jobs mornings which clashes with your class schedules. So it put more pressure on you and your academics in the first 2 or so months. I am saying all this for some of you to have that mental picture and be able to plan ahead knowing this before hand and to be able to creatively find a solution if there's one. Not necessarily to discourage ...general awareness. Many like me have passed through this hurdles before and doing much better now. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Ikjosh04: Ikjosh04:I guess you are in Australia and you don’t know what is happening in Nigeria, so don’t doubt what the guy is saying. Maybe it was easy paying tuition through form A before but since after covid 19, it’s like a bull passing through a needle eye. FG gave banks directive to limit dollar transactions and currently, thousands of people who applied through form A are on queue. I got admission in the same deakin university and I hv been tryin to pay my tuition since last month using form A and it’s still pending. I toured nearly all the banks looking which that will do it faster buh they are all saying the same story. First bank actually stopped paying through western union unless through the school account directly. Even the first bank lady says they get only $10 million for form A allocation from CBN monthly and it barely enough. Banks like GTB, Access and FCMB pays to western union account buh currently the queue is much there too. Most times staff in the bank will even advice you to open a domiciliary account and go source the dollar yourself to make the payment faster if you need urgent payment. I even tried paying using GTB MasterCard and I was told that I can only make a 100 dollar transaction daily. |

Hi kenyd, sorry about the constrain you're facing in making your payment. My comments you quoted is an advice/information I gave someone here that was having the same constrain you're currently experiencing and the person followed the instructions and came back to give a positive feedback/thank you! I advice you re-read what you quote and follow the instructions. kenyd: Yeah, nothing is certain now and we still have 3 months so anything can happen. We just need to be hopeful. Meanwhile, the update I got is Darwin, Adelaide and Perth (North, South and Western Australia) has put everything in place to kick start the pilot scheme that will bring in some international students to Australia this October but are only waiting for Scott signature and approval. valveraaaa: |
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Mailthaddeus(m): 7:48pm On Oct 07, 2020 |
BensonMiracle: On the average, tuition fee will be around $62,000AUD for masters program, then another $2000AUD for Overseas Health Insurance and collage/adminstrative fees. Rental cost starts from around $130/week, but once u are in Australia, you can work to support ur studies. But prepare for at least 1month rent, cos there is no guarantee u will get a job asap. Also, a car is very important, you could get cheap one from around $2000-3000...in everything, u start small and then upgrade. |
