[s][/s]You did not have sense. That is a school and they have rules. If you can't abide by it, then leave.

Unlike hisba, what right do they have to tell people how to live their lives. Is hisba an institution. Use your head.
you are a fool.

Simple question, sch that has no right to make law can do it, why not kano that has constitutional right to make their own laws?
Do you even have sense? Please not all of us from Arewa are this stupid. Do not allow these Ganduje slaves make you think otherwise. Why haven't they shaved his sons hairs? Sharia is for the poor while Amina Ganduje is barely covering her hair in UK.

Hypocrisy

One of the major problems we have Nigerian is hypocrisy. When Covenant University forcefully shaved a students beard most people praised the school authority for doing so but now when the same happened in the North, they call it religious fanaticism.

When people complain sometimes I wonder, what do they really want?
If OP and their likes know a thing or two about rights may be this discussion won't come up. Covenant University is a school that clearly states the rules you have to abide by before you are admitted in. You are the one applying to go under their authority and it isn't just a society you are born into by circumstances beyond your control.
Going on from there. Hisbah actions are based on a book(guran) everybody has equal right to its interpretation. CU, while based on such a book too(the Bible), is a private entity you apply to come under the admin's interpretation of the Bible.

You can see the difference in association method of the subject and master makes all the difference here.

In Hisbah, they employ a mob approach to seizing territorial control, then start going after soft targets. In CU, they make it plain and clear to you what they believe in and it is up to you to come under their authority.

The school has the right to come up with rules and regulations. Every school does.
Govt on the other hand has no right to give certain people the right to interpret a book I have my own interpretation of, the power to impose theirs on me. Use your brain. CU makes it clear and open before the relationship is initiated, Hisbah doesn't and rather hijacks public life of citizen through mobs.

Hisbah is a law enforcement agents established by constituted authority to enforce a state law. If you are residing within the state make sure you're law abiding.

Religious law are not state law. Stop displaying illiteracy. I have a right to be a christian and going on a business trip to Kano for example isn't enough for some illiterates to impose their own warped interpretation of a book I have mine own interpretation of. Religious law is something you come under willingly.

Sue them to court if practicing of sharia amounts to violation of your right as Christian. I will glad if you do that.

It happened in the school not outside. The school has rules and regulations

Op you are very very right. It is hypocrisy to see nothing when these rules are enforced in schools but you find it appalling when the shariah police are actually taking it a step further.

shouldn't the rules of a school align with the constitution of the land as it is obtainable overseas? Must it run parallel to it. Where in the constitution did they mention what to wear and the kind of haircut to make? If a school decides to be run by religious rules then a state also has right to be run by religious rules. We should be objective. Even in some schools they disgrace ladies at the gate because they are not wearing attire that match the requirements of the school, where have you seen such happening overseas?

The land permits 2 religions and the school bases their rules on one. They also make you aware before admission .

The constitution of the Country allows schools and other institutions to operate on their beliefs. That's why we have govt schools, private schools, missionary schools etc. You have the freedom to affiliate with any of them

The same constitution permits northern states who are using sharia law.

All laws whether state, company or academic all subject the constitution of federal republic of Nigeria

Each of the 36 states has customary laws. If some choose sharia law as theirs that should not be problem

Every corporate office staff knows how to dress every Monday morning and such organisation they work for can't go out in the streets to enforce it in nin-staffs.
You can't be enrolled in an Islamic school as a female without Hijab on, has anyone criticised that?
Stop making irrelevant comparisons
Hisbah went to the streets to enforce a law on people?
Re: Forceful Shaving Of Hair Good For Covenant University Bad For Hisbah by padi94(m): 8:34am On Oct 06, 2020
Oga OP your stupid propaganda cookedup ro defend your bonded religion... In covenant university which is a PRIVATE Institutions had rules that say no long beards, an individual knowing those rules chooses whether or not to attend school there. But Kano is not a private Institution, people don't have a choice whether to be born there or not. Any country or state law that takes away your freedom is slavery and oppression irrespective of reasons for this law. Religion or not.

If one cannot freely join your religion and freely leave it. Then there is a problem with such religion and it is not of God. For God gave us free will to exist he didn't automatically say all men must serve him even though he created all of them. So why is your religion taking away that which God has given to man?
