The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has insisted on embarking on strike in spite of the directive from the Federal Government (FG) for schools to resume.

As tertiary institution students are gearing up for resumption after several months of being at home due to the raging COVID-19, there is a strong indication that they will further be at home. This time, not because of COVID-19, but because of ASUU’s resistance.

Prior to now, the union has been protesting the FG’s adoption of Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS), which it said is not transparent.
