With all the stories swirling around a potential Osibanjo presidency, indeed it can be a force for good in competitive multiparty politicking however, two very hard things must happen to make it potentially successful and beneficial to Nigeria.

By our present geo-political structure he will require a vice from !the north who is an astute economist, and a highly competent one at that (obviously to chart a way out of this quasgmire). Two problems with this: There are very, very few naturally endowed economists of northern extraction, even fewer that have an iota of political popularity. As a matter oif fact I can only table one potential, the former Emir of Kano and ex-CBN guvnor.

Unfortunately neither he nor Mr. Osibanjo are hardcore politicians so navigating the democratic terrain to achieving anything meaningful within term limits will be an ardous task for that tag team. Ideally you need a core politician as President to drive policy and a core technocrat as Vice to form them. The reason why we are economically sunk is because Mr. Osibanjo is bereft of how economies are pumped.

So it is a massive catch 22 scenario as far as the APC's 2023 presidency run is concerned if Mr Veep is the candidate except some other scenario is considered. Anything short of an economist at the highest levels of office particularly a reformist and solid believer and advocate of ultra-tight fiscal policies will just be toying with Nigeria"s potential implosion.

.......A vibrant VP whose vibrancy and command of knowledge and performance was briefly showcased when his Principal handed over Power to him briefly, when the President was hospitalised in London only for Buhari to come back and reverse every gain he made, among other reversals.
True! However, since VP Osinbajo is a well educated person & presumably a man of integrity, he ought to have resigned & leave the moribund govt since they dont respect his constitutional responsibility. This is what they is obtainable in civilised climes.

Perhaps he doesn't wants to offend the powers that be.However, events have proven time without number that these brutes dont respect him.So what has changed?

"It is easier to change a system from within, than to try to change it from afar".
While it does not look good, as far as the optics are concerned (just as it did not look good for Vice Presidents, Sambo, Alex Ekwueme, Atiku, etc) but resigning and being out of the system makes it even more Opaque to you and does not benefit those you hope to serve because you are no longer priviledged to the "select" information that your office affords you.

If for example, our Tribalist idiot (apologies to Pat Utomi) decides to use an Executive order to say all the people in Southern Nigeria belongs to katsina Emirate, the first people to know about it will be `the Cabal, followed by the the inner causus of the Presidency, usually those who live inside Aso Rock and attend Executive Council meetings.
You and l on the streets wont hear about it until the day it is gazzetted and by then, it is too late.
The V.P would also have one or two loyalists inside the bubble who will sequester information to him.
Knowledge is Power, is you dont know, you are completely Powerless and you wont know if you are not a part of the inner workings of Govt.

The Vice President's Position, just like the Deputy Governor's, is a Dead-Duck position, unless the President/Governor dies in office.
But it is good in that the occupier gains some experience on how things work in that shrouded place of power.
That is why l dont buy this idea that he shoudl have resigned, Nigeria does not work the way those "saner climes" work, Nigeria is not a sane clime
.

How about PYO as President and Kingsley Moghalu (a seasoned Banker/Economist) as his Vice President?
Would that leave up to the Bill or the usual 'igbo cannot be deputy in 2023' will not allow it to fly?

The way Nigeria is structured, l think it is the intellect, vibrancy and non-bias of the President that determines how we roll.
Too much concentration of Power in the "Executive President".

Buhari is a disaster in all these markers.

But how can you be criticizing your own policy? That shows a lot is wrong with this government. Imagine a VP criticizing a policy made by the very government he is part of. A divided house cannot stand strong.
Initially, he doesn't talk, now why should he talk, what exactly is the color of your problem, as VP his entitled to his personal opinion, what get signed into law has little or nothing to do with how he feels.
BTW, Policy is not the duty of the executives, check your constitution, the lawmakers are the one that introduced and sign that, if you want to blame someone blame your representatives.

You should read your constitution, this is not about leadership, this is about who make the law, how does the law get approved!

Don't blame or hold your representative responsible, put all your frustration on the vice president.

Most of the youth are just talk, you fear your representative, but would rather blame the VP, because somehow in your twisted mind he is the soft target.

Every state have Senator, and federal representative that make up the lawmakers, the state still have lawmakers as well, all of this people get constituency allowance, but lets leave them.

hmm!

dead on arrival! Osinbajo can never get any support from South East and South South because he never deserved it. he should get his support from only Southwest.

So far as 2023 Presidential Election is concerned, Osinbajo is on his own because 2023 belongs to Igbo or North can continue ruling the country.

Any Yoruba man that comes out for 2023 President is an enemy of Igbo, and should be dealt with at the polls. South East and South South are out to deal with any Yoruba Politician that messes up with Igbo.

One Nigeria!!!
And I can't remember the last time Osinbajo sought for your so called SE and SS support. Osinbajo doesn't need it. Y'll noisemakers said the same thing about Buhari too, Buhari eventually proved that your so called SS and SE is irrelevant to Nigerian politics and Osinbajo would be a compound fool to rely on 5% support. Shove your useless support into your ass.

Oga, go and read up on ACCOUNTABILITY and LEADERSHIP rather than trying to make excuses for a person simply because you are a fan. Nonsense. Very soon you will be asking us not to question him at all.

You should ask for a refund from whatever school you attend, how does criticizing (personal opinion) the government he is part of, relate to LEADERSHIP and ACCOUNTABILITY.
You just pick some vocabulary and start typing, who said he shouldn't be held accountable, go back and read the topic again, I don't have time to explain deductive reasoning to an adult.

You first comment was childish and completely pointless, the VP has nothing to do with the law that is passed, he is to assist and take function as his principal prescribe. Take a cold water and read your garbage next time before posting.

I don't even have a problem with that but issue is when the VP says even things that are reasonable why the attacks? The man talks about restructuring na problem, merit over federal character, attack, welfare of Nigerians they attack him even very educated folks use every opportunity to diss the VP just because his credentials are very intimidating, was Namadi sambo getting the sticks for his boss GEJ this way?
