It lasts a week true but mine is a special case.

The bonus does rollover for me after a week (the expiry date is extended) but that's because I don't allow mine to expire or last 2wks.

But someone mentioned you can get double data that lasts for 30 days subscribing the normal way (*131# or *123#). I dunno how true that is and I'm not willing to try.

You shouldn't have subscribed using that way...
Here is a screenshot of the menu for the double data. Access it from an option called Mega deal zone or dial *121# and select data4me.

But on the bright side you just confirmed something for me (what you did doesn't give double data for existing customers).

If you have another MTN sim lying around, you can use it for data for a few months before it comes back.

Btw have you been on Beta-Talk for long or did you migrate to it?

Use another SIM for data only. You can use it to spam 2GB for 500 (if budget is tight) until they remove it or you load above 500.

Maybe you selected the wrong plan, every MTN subscriber is eligible for this, hey usually take it out from 121 because they want to promote their app.
