Its quite unfortunate that your epistle is written out of ignorance. I could have written thousands of pages to debunk your baseless claim but I don't have the time for an ignoramus. However, it is important for you to note that university lecturers on CONUASS are the least paid (colleges and polytechnic lecturers earn more than us) and the issue of salary increment WAS NEVER part of the negotiations with FG. It is also imperative for you to note that ASUU is a body of intellectual and we can't fold our arms and allow the university education system to decay just as primary and secondary is. An average Nigerian would prefer to send their wards to private pry and sec schools but how many people can afford a private university?? The effort of ASUU is what makes public university to be affordable up till this moment. Note that every university has a governing council who decide the fate of erring lecturers/staff. Its not the duty of ASUU to suspend or deal with any erring lecturer. Lastly, please note that when monies are eventually released for the universities, hold the management/governing council responsible because this funds are not shared within ASUU member. For over a decade, ASUU has been urging the Federal government to constitute a visitation panel to constantly visit university and monitor any misappropriation of funds but they didn't. The only money that comes into our purse is EAA which is our hard earned money and we advised them to incorporate it to our salary which they didn't. I stop here for now

Schools have their disciplinary committees pooled from members of senate, they're the ones who are meant to look into cases of indiscipline, not ASUU.

You are deceiving yourself. So, the members of the governing council are not in ASUU abi. My post says ASUU should speak out and hold its members to high teaching standard. The FG is not the cause of all problems. ASUU could help by looking inwards which it has failed to do.

You are not smart at all . Read my post again and comment. I said ASUU could 'speak up' against the ills of lecturers. They dont do that. Only fighting for money.

Fine we can hold ASUU by all these but then. The FG are also at fault.

How do you expect ASUU to keep collecting the same salary they’ve been receiving since 2009??

The FG is also very greedy and that’s the more reason ASUU is adamant to call off the strike.

Both parties are to blame.
then they should be fighting for Salary increment not fighting against IPPIS

Keep typing sha. you will spend donkey years at home. better goan learn work or marry, or do both. someone was trying to explain how ASUU works, but instead of you to acknowledge some of the cogent points he brought forward, you stuck to only "ASUU thinks about money". Was it only money you talked about? and who told you governing council are made up of only ASUU members?

was really thinking this would be an engaging thread, but its obvious you just want be a nitwit without common sense. mumusco!!!

Speak up in what capacity? They're a union not a leadership council. Besides the Ministry of Education is the employer, ask them to 'speak up'

I already said you're ignorant. Council member are not ASUU member. They are mostly answerable to government than the school management. High teaching standard when the facilities are not available. You're completely oblivious of the situation of most facilities in public university and that's why we are agitating for revitalization. Also, You need to pick one side and stop pretending as if you're supporting us. Which one is looking inwards?

I am in support of increased funding to universities, but ASUU has done more harm than good. IPPIS is not about facilities, is it .
