The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Rotimi Akeredolu, has won the election held in his unit.

Sorting of votes and counting started at around 4pm.

When the result was announced by INEC officials at the unit 6 Ward 5, Isokun, Ijebu Owo, Akeredolu scored 413 votes.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Eyitayo Jegede, polled 12 votes while the candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, Agboola Ajayi, who is the deputy governor scored zero.

Voters and residents of the area burst into jubilation as the results were announced at the unit.

The Ondo State deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi and candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) has won his unit in the Ondo State governorship election.

Ajayi voted in Apoi ward 04 at R.C.M at Idumado Quarter, Kiribo in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of the state.

Ajayi scored 395 votes while Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 5, All Progressives Congress (APC) got 13.

Ajayi, it would be recalled joined the PDP after leaving the APC following an irreconcilable difference with the incumbent governor, Rotimi Akeredolu who is the APC candidate.

The deputy governor contested the PDP primaries and lost to Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, who is the party’s flagbearer in the election.

Though, he initially accepted the outcome of the primary election, Agboola days after the primaries, however, dumped the PDP and picked the ticket of the ZLP to contest the election.

At least Jegede's juju man that was doing incantations on his billboard helped him win in his pooling unit

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaZa4Xxbs5k

Unfortunately.... Akeredolu who didn't waste time to incant on billboards but on more important things like the card reader......which I believe yielded better results ..

After casting his vote.... Akeredolu said he believes God will give him victory...... Not jujuj

Let us also use this opportunity to thank God for sparing the lives of these people who were going to remote areas to share electoral material and carry out other electoral functions.

May we never be harmed while carrying out our jobs and duties in Jesus name. Amen

Hope SARS officials weren't at the pooling units. We want them banned. No reform let's keep managing the regular police, RRS...etc. we don't want SARS cos they're worse than the so called criminals they claim to be after

Edo governorship election na baba of elections, the fairest and the freest since 1999 in spite of the evil predicted by the naysayers. Above all, the most heated and tensed grin

I wish all the ondo candidates the very best
