In a Midfield of 3, Xhaka will always start unless Saka starts in Midfield. Arteta will never play the same legged players together. That is why Mari and Gabriel were signed because all our defenders are right legged.

Against small teams, we can use the 4man defence. We have "Ok" Ams for now in ceballos and Willian. We can try that out.

3 at the back limits us much, cos it seems as if teams are cracking the code(we played abysmally against west ham utd, and Sheffield with that formation). Against big teams I might understand, but against small teams where we need to hold more possession and expect to attack more, 3 at the back will limit our attacking options and movements

You are absolutely spot on. A 3man defense will be detrimental against smaller teams (doesn't) make sense.
