JorgedeToledo:So the Governor released funds to the LG councils and the counselors were not paid? If that's the case then they should know where to channel their grievances to. |

dalongjnr:TO start with OGA, im one who has very close ties to people in politics. when i tell you, as far as Edo state is concerned and if not all states in NIGERIA, no councillor who started his tenure three years ago was elected in any election. The more reason why they dnt get their full salaries of 300-400k a month because they spent nothing on campaign or election. Argue with your keyboard |

Sometimes I wonder which type of democracy we practise in Nigeria! I'm sure it is not the one we inherited from Britain and not the one we borrowed from US. It's just a system of government by some people in a party, and for some people within the party!!! Anyway make una continue, nemesis go come one day. I don off my microphone! |

Creeza:You're justifying illegality. Our youths are mentally lazy. I can tell you that they rig in governorship election too. So forget rigging in the councillors. Once elected, rigging or not, he's qualified to his emoluments. |

They should go meet oshiomomhle to pay them. |

sagitariusbaby:Your thought pattern is abysmal. Has Buhari denied any elected officer who is not a member of APC their salary? You are shallow and very pathetic. |

Tareq1105:First, im not justifying any illegality. Secondly, illegality brought them there so they should hide their faces in shame or keep quiet and allow their tenure to finish, instead of trying to blackmail the Gov. Thirdly,im not a mentally lazy youth but if I AM, THEN I'm more patriotic than you lying and shameless ancestor. |

ckmayoca:Obaseki is well known to be wicked and vindictive. We all would be here the day Ize Iyamu would pull the carpet off his feet. We need to know how he gained admission into UI 200 level with just 3 credits without English and Maths and no A level results. I can't wait for the court proceedings to commence. |

hakeemhakeem:That seems to be the practice with PDP. Remember Obasanjo wouldn't release allocations to Lagos State under Tinubu because Lagos state was in the hand of the opposition party. See how shallow-brained the people leading the affairs of the giant of Africa are? |

sagitariusbaby:Edo state is not Obaseki's company. He's not using his personal money to pay them. They are elected councillors, not appointed. I supported Obaseki against Oshiomole but let's call a spade a spade . |

This is someone that accused Oshiomhole of godfatherism. The painful part is Nigerians (Nairalanders) are blaming the councilors instead of Obaseki with his undemocratic move. Wondering if it were to be APC Governor, that won't be their reaction |

dalongjnr:Unfortunately Councillors are selected not elected. If a state governor is of the PDP, all the councillors (100%) will be selected from the PDP...and if a governor is of the APC, all the councillors will be selected from the APC..... |

sagitariusbaby:and people like you will be crying that Nigeria is not moving forward. How can Nigeria move forward when people like you still exist? Are you telling me that Buhari should withhold all allocations meant for PDP governors? The problem of this country is the foolish youths of your type. |

AlphaT1:That's bad. That's not democracy. See ah, winner takes all mentality is what's hurting our democracy today. As a matter of fact, that's what brings about poor performance in governance. Democracy need competition for it to grow. |
