When my car landed in nigeria, the mechanic that serviced the car weeks back used a SAE 20W-50 for the servicing.

I just checked the engine cap and I discovered that the recommended OIL is SAE 5W -20 orS” SAE 0W - 20

Could this harm the engine? What do you suggest i do?

Audio cars need audio oil.

Drain the oil and replace with the correct one. Since the car manufacturer recommended lesser weighted oils, thicker oils will make the engine work more, this causes issues over time

Please is not an issue, leave it, then when its due for service you can Chang it, OK.

Conclusion
Visited the mechanic today and i will be draining the previous one and i will be adding the factory recommended oil

Name of vehicle, year, engine displacement.
