Osun Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Saturday afternoon joined #EndSARS protesters in Osogbo.


The Governor marched with other executives of the state from Alekuwodo Area around 2:54 pm to Ola-Iya Junction where the protesters gathered.

Armed Men Attack Governor Oyetola At Protest Ground

There was an attempt Saturday on the life of the Governor Oyetola. Armed with guns, cutlasses, the hoodlums swooped on the Governor at Olaiya junction,while he was addressing the #EndSARS protesters at the state capital.

Governor Oyetola had joined protesters in the walk from Alekuwodo area to Olaiya junction, singing with them and promising them that their demands will be looked into, and that he supported how their peaceful agitations which is a part of democratic process.

However, while still addressing the youths, the armed men and women started shooting, hurled stones at the Governor's car.

The Governor scampered into safety. There were several gunshots that rented the air. So much tension and several casualties.

The protests are getting hotter.
Our politicians must have gotten the message now.
The youths have a voice. You can't silence them for ever.

But in as much as we want police brutality to end, we shouldn't go the the extent of taking lives.
