I am not sure Orji Uzor Kalu made this statement, though, the IBOs are known for propaganda that cannot stand logic or intelligence reasoning, I doubt OUK made this statement.

As at May 1987 when Awolowo died, who was he? The only record he had was that as a student in University of Maiduguri, he donated fake money during a fund raising ceremony.

Even Nnamdi Azikiwe that died in 1996, Segun Awolowo jnr or Older age group like Tinubu cannot claim he confided in them on national matters. On what political indices will Baba Awolowo be confiding in Uzor Kalu?

Thanks for the additional information.
The ex-convict actually said it in his upcoming biography, according to the OP.

Good back to school to learn English Comprehension , then come back and comprehend this quotes from the article;

I learnt from him that there existed two types of the military which he described as professional and mercenary military.

β€œHe told me the military government was of the latter type (and) assured me that he had not seen anything in the IBB regime to assure him of their messianic mission .”

I guess my instances were in order. Awolowo's description of military was very subjective as evidenced in the above post. The military which gave him the key to the national treasury is professional while the one which called him for a mere national duty is mercenary. Awo could be many things to a cross section of people however he was definitely not a ninny.

you don talk for your mind?
meanwhile, what's the age of orji uzor kalu when Awo died in 1987? by my calculation he should be under 25 and I don't think he would have had that privilege to talk extensively with Papa Awo though it's true that Awo rejected ibb in all ramifications.

I am not surprised by the evidence of your stream of thought as demonstrated in the above post. I guess in your world of Yoruba land, 25 year is still not a man. I am not a fan Orji uzor Kalu however it is alleged the dude was a university graduate by 1987. Some of the majors and captains who sacked the first Nigerian republic were within the age of 25 or slightly above.

you may be right anyway that making it and being established at 25 is not a thing that is out of reach of any determined and hard-working soul; OUK might could have made it early in life.
but I am sure that no matter how early he rose, he didn't command that flagship position at the period of Awo time to be privilege to have access to such matter he claims to be privy to. Orji Uzor Kalu lies.

The IBOs are known for illogical propaganda. Who was Orji Uzor Kalu as at May 1987. The age of Military officers in a Coup of 1966 in Nigeria and Ghana did not have anything to do with a statesman or a sage having discussion in the 80s with an unknown and inconsequential element whose only identity was the donation of fake money at a fund raising ceremony as a student. If Chief MCK Ajuluchukwu or late Chief Ojo Maduekwe had brought such insinuation, nobody would have said anything. We all remembered how difficult it was for late MKO Abiola to see Baba Awo and Orji Uzor Kalu dare not sneeze where the calibre of MKO speaks as at that time.

If you want to dance naked in the market square, market day is not the best day. The lie is too open. On what political indices will Awolowo be confiding in him? Was it as an Eastern Youth leader or a Political thinkthank Team leader? Who was he before and as at May 1987. Even Arthur Nzeribe cannot say Awo confided in him on National Issue as at 1987.
