A BATTLE FOR CHANGE: THE FLAWED AND DECAYED ROUND

Dear Nigerian youths,
What you see happening now is as a result of unplanned and unorganized anti-government movement. I know absolutely nothing about this world and it’s people but I only know one thing, if you wish to beat a master of a game, you must understand the game as much as he does. You only know that there is politics and there is a government but you don’t understand how both bodies work.

You woke up one morning with the right energy but no one told you it was the wrong time, we should have done away with police brutality long ago but everyone kept blinking their eyes and looking away from the evil.

In a country like Nigeria a protest can be dead on arrival, it can show some light and die off. If this protest had been done years ago you would have learnt that protests getting hijacked is inevitable not because they are government sponsored hoodlums but because the hoodlums burning police stations are young man who have had the police in their black book for a while but needed the opportunity to to strike and thanks to you they got it, another set of attackers are those angered by your road barricading which has slowed down their ability to find daily bread and heighten the economy difficulty, also somewhere in between could be sponsored hoodlums.

If you had done this protest years back then you would have learnt the above and also know that it takes more than a protest to win what you want.

I said something earlier in a article, if I were the president and I wanted this protest to be dead on arrival I would hire somebody you don’t know who would join the protest as a leader and stand against my government with you.

You may not understand the above paragraph so let it slide

Don’t get me wrong, millions of us want a change in government, we want a better country but not with your fire for fire economy crippling method. You say you do it for your children, if you spoil for a war you won’t live to have those children and the children on today will be destroyed by your mistakes and the nation will end up like Syria, Libya and the others.
You blocked roads to prevent Nigerians from going through but you forget that politicians fly helicopters and jet, you frustrate the daily living of Nigerians while the politicians award themselves heroes award as they drink and laugh.

Every action you take is like spitting upwards and it comes right back to your face
Who slits his own throat and expects his enemy to bleed to death?
Who drinks poison and expects someone else to die?

If you don’t know how the game is played you will be overwhelmed and beaten

Besides, you cited for him so let the man rule. You voted for him, rigged election for him, chanted his name on the streets, some flew away from Nigeria during election and came back after it, you saw the dangers but jumping into it. I had always tried to call the youths to order but no one listened, just let the man rule and finish his tenure.

And stop calling yourselves leaders of tomorrow, tomorrow never comes
And if you wish to have a political party, do not call it Youths party, that name is dumb, call it The Calvary because you are the Calvary.

Accept what has been given not as defeat but experience and potential progress...

From this moment your skin will be thicker

The protest is doctored politically.

Las Las, another political party or Military go take over & they're all the same.

For how long will the people tremble at the feet of a blood thirsty dictator? For how long are we going to cower at the sight of his guns? For how long will Buhari get away with murder? With corruption? With nepotism For how long shall we the people allow evil to win because we are threatened with violence?? For how long Mr Plato?? How long is long enough!?

They failed because so many people wanted to become heroes overnight, Aisha Yesufu, Sowore, Kuti, Falz, etc have not even began the battle and they were playing gods, my people always believe that you have to embrace somebody before you can think of squeezing him

Let me tell you the truth, if you refuse to retreat and die, you will only be remembered as the casualties of war.

The country will still return to normal in a couple of months...

okay let me ask you sir...

how do you administer a cure more deadly than the virus?

Can't you see that this blood shed has never happened before in the history of the nation.

You tried to solve a problem with protest and it didn't work then retreat and plan again.

No need for sttuborness
Even celebrities have retreated

Just look at the people dying this night, they will only be remembered as casualties of war...

This would have been a far better solution than this blood bath.

I mapped out this solution today

I think that sometimes in history, we have to be steadfast for a cause irrespective of the consequences! There are moments in history when societies bedeviled with evil governments took the gauntlet and overpowered brutal dictators. Recently for instance, the Arabs. If we all continue to run at the first sight of coercion, freedom will never come. Because according to you, what we need is to retreat in order to fight another day? What you can't assure us as we speak is that the government will never spill blood next time..

The issues here are those that are angry and no matter how incensed they are, they know that it is logical enough to stay at home than play into the hands of these dictators... Let's stop cheering them up on twitter. Join them on ground if you believe so much in what you are typing.

I support these protest and the genuine intentions of the Nigerian youths. But we need to know that a new Nigeria will not come after a single attempt. The time has come when we need to give it a rest and retreat now. This is our first time and I can say we have our major wins already, not forgetting to take heed of all our mistakes and loopholes.

Nigerian Youths let's retreat, I can't even sleep, seeing what's happening tonight at lekki... We should not burn down the country in an attempt to safe it...
