Since the amazing speech yesterday, I've seen a lot of first timers and "please I'm new here" posts. grin
Word of advise, please read up for yourself extensively and then ask questions. Even when you get your answers here, still go and read up more.
And to no one in particular, please if we're not sure of the answer to someone's question, wait for someone who is sure to answer.
Las las what do I know? I'm just a junior here.
God will bless all our efforts with PPR ooo.

The nysc experience will definitely count as long as you can get a duly signed reference letter in ircc format from your ppa stating you work there. But because of the current draw score, with 1yr experience your score will be very low. You can read up on ways to improve your score and which will favour you
Jaycenvirtualse:

Thank you for response. Since I have little of admin duties experience during NYSC. it can't count right?

Hello All,

I would like to find out more about AVO. Is it generally slow for all types of applications (pnp, fsw etc) or are there certain classes that are generally faster. Also is there a way to avoid your application being sent there? Are there classes of people that are never sent there?

Congrats! It's like Accra woke up today. Like I said in my previous post, people from different AVO whatsapp groups have been celebrating...more than 40 of them.

When is your AOR?

Please go to Canada's website. Cic.gc.ca to read about it. It is unacceptable. Nairaland is to help you. Nairaland isn't an authority. In this journey, you have to learn how to research and not believe all you hear hook, line and sinker. Many nigerians are lazy when it comes to digging out info. They want to be spoonfed. Invest time in researching correct info. Shalom. Even when u do your CRS score. It tells you who's acceptable as a sibling.

livewithpurpose:

Thank you because I've been worried if I should indicate it. My mom adopted her when she was 2 years old (Even though there are no legal documents to prove it). She lived with us her entire life until when she left Nigeria to study in Canada 8 years ago. We both have photos and correspondence to prove it.

I'm bringing it here because I've not found any valuable information online and I'm trying to lean on other people's experiences. You don't have to be condescending in your speech.

Oh well, it is common knowledge for people to keep asking questions that have been answered. Simulate your CRS score. Your answer is there.

IELTS
The struggle was real. Especially in the writing section until I stumbled on a post by Wasseynewest. He helped break it down. He linked me up to another tutor, Pretty who helped with the reading section. After all the practice and 4 attempts, I finally maxed out.

ECA.
I used IQAS for my LLB and got equivalent of masters. Lawyers please use IQAS to get maximum points. The timeline for IQAS though longer than WES wasn't so bad in 2018. You still get more points.

ITA
After I maxed Ielts, the scores went up and never came down. Back then it was in the 438-442's. Kai!! It wasn't funny coupled with birthday fast approaching.
Oh well, I got PNP nomination and my score skyrocketed to the thousands. Finally I was able to get ITA in Sept, 2019.

AOR
I had become a Nairaland Professor because I joined in part 3. I read every single page, starting with page 1. Guys page 1 of all the parts is the key. I made a lot of notes. I knew what to do to gather the necessary documents even before AOR to ensure I submitted everything correctly. I even emailed some seniors then. Newmum was very helpful. She was the NOC mama then and she helped look through mine. Oh well, I finally submitted in Oct,2019.

POST AOR
I refused to let them rest o. A month after I raised first cse and was told my file had been moved to AVO. I panicked but what could I do. I had been told to just relax since AVO was a nightmare and still is. I didn't relax o. I sent a CSE every month just so my file could be in their faces all the time.
I wrote to MP's to help check on my file. Some were helpful and some said I had to be resident before they could help. Funny people. As God would have it, I stumbled on an MP that was great and kept following up.
I also requested gcsm notes in Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb and April. Lolllll. I know what you are thinking but guys Accra is crazy and I wasn't going to take any chance with them. I don't know if it paid off but in May all was passed and then the Covid wait.

Your friend should call them. It is usually about 2 weeks. My husband didn't get his on time too so he called, they sent it but it got lost during postage I guess so they asked for the address he requested the copy to be sent. If you're right, they will resend free of charge, if not, you will pay for an additional copy.

If there are no legal documents to prove it, how do you want to convince the VO you're siblings? I highly doubt photos are enough. If she was a blood sibling, a birth certificate and photos would suffice but you said she doesn't have a birth certificate and there aren't any adoption papers. I highly doubt you can claim her as a sibling even though she added you as one on her application.

Like Bekkay said, read up on this on the CIC website. All the adoption stories I've read here always had legal adoption papers
