SegFault: The politicians won’t even be consumed. I like to think every government property is insured, same with banks and other standard organizations. It is the private hustling individuals that would feel the heat. I watched a public address by the Lagos state governor where he said he invited them for a meeting and they said they don’t have a LEADER. For how long did they think they could have held it down peacefully in a country like Nigeria? This is common sense really! Plead: When they were burning government properties, they were aggrieved Nigerians, now they have faced private/individual businesses- they are now hoodlums. Nah! They are still aggrieved Nigerians. Their grievance is just different from ours. The first problem of the poor is FOOD. They have finished with the govt and they have gone to where they’ll get FOOD!! |

Nfora: Did this happen for real or it was a fictitious story someone came up with to give credence to their disapproval of the protests? Why, in any case at all, was he far from someone who's between life and death?? Lol... How could he take his wife to an hospital where he'd have to navigate traffic, a major road and distance? He could not walk there? Did he leave her there and decided to go back... at another time, because labour was prolonged ni?? It doesn't add up. Or maybe the husband and wife lives separately - then this would make sense, otherwise, so many holes. |
Re: #EndSARS: An Appeal To Protesters To Stop Obstructing Traffic by Magnoliaa(f): 2:46am On Oct 24, 2020 |
pocohantas: You've compared totally different things. You calling for "reason" by asking people not to block roads is not the reason why people are looting. You didn't ask people not to protest. Again, the protests have been everything orderly and exemplary. The protests DID NOT lead to the looting. For two weeks, there was NO record of violence - from the protesters' side. And then again, it's a known fact that politicians are sponsoring thugs to come divert/infiltrate these protests to quell their purpose. The Edo prison break was intentional; an inside job. So? IF toll-gate hadn't happened, sanctioned by the Government, we wouldn't be here. It was all incited FROM them... Yep. Things were going on fine as you said in your last line... 1 Like |

The very last discussions here... A lot of false analogies... and pro-government and unpopular opinions. Unpopular among people for a reason... And I read one justifying the 'release' of military men to deal with internal unrest and security issues. Sigh. Personally, it makes no difference that police stations are getting burnt and hoodlums are terrorizing in the streets. That's been the status quo. Nobody ever gets protected by the police... in the first place. The protest IS independent of every other thing except WHAT it stands for. And will continue to stand for. We meuvee. 2 Likes |

Re: #EndSARS: An Appeal To Protesters To Stop Obstructing Traffic by pocohantas(f): 10:04am On Oct 24, 2020 |
Magnoliaa: The government sponsored thugs? Anyone who isn’t a protester was sponsored by government- but when they were attacking Tinubu and Sanwo Olu’s houses, they were angry civilians. Before the mass looting/curfew, there was already a level of chaos on the mainland. Why do you think the curfew was put in place? Hoodlums have always been in your midst and they need chaos to thrive. The protest became chaotic the minute they started blocking roads, making Nigerians spend hours on the road- leading to insecurity and loss of lives, but you guys have deluded yourselves into thinking only casualties directly tied to the protest(ers) are valid. Every protest must end in a roundtable discussion. They refused that (in a country like Nigeria) and that again is why we are here. So yes, the disorganization and unnecessary stretch of the protest brought all of us here. Thank you. 1 Like |

Magnoliaa: Exercising which constitutional right? The people they were blocking from moving around by blocking roads don't they have right to free movement? You claim to be protesting because SARS are infringing on your rights only for you to start infringing on other people's right to free movement and also harassing people who didn't join the protest. What exactly is the difference between you and the SARS guys? Innocent protesters? Oh. When they were blocking roads, burning police stations and assaulting people who didn't join protest they were thugs and hoodlums but when security officials retaliate to tame them or bring them under control they suddenly turn peaceful protesters, right? I don't know why most of you have refused to be logical. If y'all were logical instead of being emotional and sentimental all these fvckery going on now wouldn't have happened. |

Plead: So, in summary, it is right for the military to shoot at unarmed protesters, exercising a constitutional right, yeah? How would explain the days before October 20th, with zero violent acts from the protesters? Why did things go south after the Lekki shootings? Attached below is the basis for my believing them to be UNARMED and PEACEFUL. 1 Like

Re: #EndSARS: An Appeal To Protesters To Stop Obstructing Traffic by Magnoliaa(f): 12:17pm On Oct 24, 2020 |
pocohantas: Yes. Two valid groups. I believe both to be responsible for the chaos now. My concerns are with events BEFORE the shootings. Can you show me where people, (obviously protesters) were looting as from 8th October - 18th October? As you believed the protests led to vandalism. Where did the hoodlums in our midst go during that period?? Yet, within that time frame, I can show you sponsored thugs (obviously), who came in BRT buses, etc., to divert protests, and the protesters beat them up and then treated them. Self-defense here. I am telling you that the Lekki killings incited and tipped the masses over; they were enjoying chicken and rice, jonzing peacefully. (The Feminist Coalition ensured this order - abating crises with food, treatment, legal services, etc). So, yeah, a huge number of the protesters withdrew (who wants to die from a soldier's gun?), leaving the uncontrolled rest out there. Practically bullying us to going back online/home. Before the mass looting/curfew, there was already a level of chaos on the mainland. Why do you think the curfew was put in place? Hoodlums have always been in your midst and they need chaos to thrive. Ehen. There have always been the average, uncultured people in our misdt. But WHY did their presence not have any impact during the earlier days I specified? Why, for over ten days straight, did they not become violent? The government created DISORDER for the purpose of enacting that curfew. So they can have that perfect opportunity to say, "see, they've turned it violent." And you're falling for that now. A prison break was staged; they employed pro-sars Hausa thugs, etc. See, these people have done absolutely EVERYTHING to derail the protests. -initial audio ban -threats to pioneers -tear gases -rubber bullets, sporadic killings -water cannons -ethnic and sexual orientation divisions -gender and generational divisions -freezing of bank accounts collecting funds for protests -a ban on all radio and TV stations from reporting on the protests by the NBC But we FOCUSED. There was absolutely nothing that could deter us from the GOAL. There was no LEADER to compromise and bribe (another factor for its prolonged success); the MILITARY was the highest, and vilest form they had to resort to eventually after expelling all tricks in their arsenal. -ship in thugs -they created chaos -therefore, making a curfew logical -use military to punish "offenders" of curfew. (there's PROOF of these armed thugs, on the outside, being shipped in droves TO protest grounds. They were paid #1,500; 4k; #500,000 - testimonies from their mouths abound) A curfew they announced on Twitter oh, from 4 P.M.!!! Wait. How would people get to hear, to get home on time?? Isn't that deliberate wickedness?? Later they moved the curfew to 9 P.M. or so, but the soldiers arrived around 6:45 P.M., and began shooting. Placards were the only thing in those heroes' hands -- so what are they punishing them for?? Why military no go Surulere (not sure of this location, though) where ACTUAL vandalism was going on?? No soldier/police officer went to where there was violence. None! EVEN AT THAT, you do not use the military in internal security issues. YOU DO NOT. Unless, a country is on the brink of civil war... Yet on unarmed people. How many actual thugs did the military "curtail?" Okay now, how many hooligans dem don apprehend for 'peace'? The protest became chaotic the minute they started blocking roads, making Nigerians spend hours on the road- leading to insecurity and loss of lives, but you guys have deluded yourselves into thinking only casualties directly tied to the protest(ers) are valid. This is untrue, unless chaotic had taken on a new meaning I'm unaware of. Blocking roads, traffic jam, chaotic?? Loss of lives and insecurity caused by protesters?? Verified ones, where? Seriously. Go check pictures of the demonstrations well online. SARS continued, persistently to kill people (Jimoh Isiaq, and co.) after their paper disbandment. The reason why we were unwilling to heed in the first place. They all still had their guns, gone rogue with not a single person arrested. Nobody died in traffic. Protesters allowed emergencies go through. There were ambulances. So, ion know where you got that bit. Again, whatever insecurity there was was caused by the transported thugs, else, we'd have been having those insecurities from day 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 of protests. If you cannot find an evidence for such, then it means we all (including agberos, jobless youths, and frustrated, angry citizens) were PEACEFUL. Expressing our frustrations in different ways (comedy skits; some partied, granted, and so on). Every protest must end in a roundtable discussion. They refused that (in a country like Nigeria) and that again is why we are here. So yes, the disorganization and unnecessary stretch of the protest brought all of us here. Thank you. Right. I know you're aware of how 'zoogeria' is, with polithiefcians who would cling onto their powers to death. As if you're a foreigner to how things are run in this country. How many of the things in their manifestos did they end up fulfilling? How many presidential promises did the Bad Boy follow through on? You don't get it's not about *discussion*. (Telling average, hungry Nigerians to logic, by the way, is a privileged demand to ask of them). Real people died; families were shattered (Awkuzu SARS/ www.endsars.com ), (aside, the same reasons underlie feminists' anger and bitterness.) Imagine how men tell us to be logical when it comes to rape, sexism and oppression, we should be candy-sweet feminists that reason with men? Yeah. It's the same thing at play here, telling demoralized people to be objective. Unemployment, and the whole shebang on everyone's head. There are different systematic rot and pain embedded in #EndSars. It like an accumulation of YEARSSS of. . . . The FG have scrapped SARS 4 times! Since 2017. We want none of that shit anymore. Change of name on a panel they comprises of? Nah. We want ACTION. (You don't dialogue with power-wielders, sha). And our representation in offices. Oh, oh... we have ALL our demands relayed to them. The 5-point agenda. Just simple five things oh. Biko, work on that for us to see (which is not prevented by streets demonstrations), so watin we wan siddon dey talk?? We unanimously agree to #5for5. As leaders of ourselves. That's all we have to say to them. The only group that should be acting with immediate effect then is the FG. Everything falls on them. Assuming ALL SARS officers 'vacated' our streets on the second; third day after disbanding them - we would have been pacified. Did they not get the order of their defunct, ni? So, we leave the streets, status quo return, only for the elders to start mocking us wHaTs tHe pOiNt? People would still call us empty, noise makers... No one has been brought to book. How hard is it to arrest killer officers, huh (video evidences and witnesses dey)? It'll take them 2 weeks? Some countries have protested for more than 100 days straight, to only stop until their demands are met... so, really, the Nigerian youth agitations should not be an exception.................. 3 Likes 1 Share |

pocohantas: If a man had spew these i wuld av bin disappointed, everything that happened from 20th of oct was premeditated, politics is a game full of mysterious gimmicks; There is an adage that says, the house of a king that got burnt definitely adds beauty ... i don't know of any other official way sanwo could av gotten his family house renovated by govt if not thru what happened. secondly, the burning of sanwo olu family house exonerates him from any serious accusation, govt sponsored the hijack. who stands to benefit the most ? what could hoodlums have gained so far is incomparable to what the govt stands to lose, if the protest goes on, cos there is nothing like it in history of nigeria. most organised, of all people "Youths" Hoodlums are nigerians n they will alway be in our midst, buh these hoodlums will never misbehave without the support of politicians. Barricading the road was not what degenerated into chaos, govt actions @ lekki tollgate is responsible for whatever happened. I don't remember any law in the bible or constitution stipulating all protest must end on a round table, what nigerians want is an end to police brutality & above all good goverance ... the govt should address the nation on how they plan to resolve all issues, instead of looking for who to buy that will compromise the movement. |
