ood morning house, please is there anyone here who was issued COPR after March 18th that has landed in Canada?

My COPR will expire by the end of November. If there is any WhatsApp or telegram group or personal experience I can get information from, it will be really appreciated.

My thoughts exactly Mamaroon. People use affidavits in place of birth certificates all the time. My sister has always used an affidavit in place of her birth certificate.
She used it in applying for her PR and she is a PR now. The lady can easily get the other supporting documents from her cousin(sister). The most important thing is whether her cousin has been consistent in stating that her aunt is her mum. If she has, and also has an affidavit to show her aunt is her mum in her birth affidavit, then we don't need to talk about adoption, she is her mum. And the lady here can claim sibling points without any fears. In summary, I would advice the lady to ask her cousin and be sure she has been consistent in all her applications. I will also advice her to speak to an immigration lawyer, but that na money sha. I wish her all the best.
Mamaroon:

Updated post.

I'm assuming for a minute that there must be some underlying legal docs that supports your cousin's affidavit and also that she has consistently stated you as a sibling and your mum as her mum.

Given the foregoing, has anyone used an affidavit as proof of sibling relationship? See below but it looks like it was accompanied by attestation of birth or baptismal records...guess they were biological siblings.

It seems IRCC accept the following as evidence of identity and age (which I guess, helps corroborate sibling relationship): passport, travel doc, birth certificate or "statutory declaration as per IRPR178" (could an affidavit be an acceptable statutory declaration?). It may be advisable to get legal counsel for this though.

No, they don't have to come from one NOC. Only your primary NOC has to be one year's experience in one NOC.

The remaining two years can be from different NOC's. As long as they are under NOC A, B, or O, it is okay.

Thank you

Crespo Baba......I am not a lawyer o, but I do not think an affidavit answers every issue...I may be wrong though.

If affidavits were a "cure all", then applicants adopting young children would be swearing affidavits instead of going through the legal process to obtain adoption papers. Lawyers in the house help us out........

What stops all other applicants from claiming cousins as siblings using affidavit alone? Enough of us grew up with our siblings.

If her cousin has not been consistent in naming her aunty as her mum in her own application....then neither affidavit nor adoption papers can help. I would have said "try it" if she is convinced of her position (e.g. that an affidavit can serve as a legal document proving adoption), but some experiments are so expensive!!!

Even if aunty was stated as cousin's mum on her own application, I am assuming IRCC will need some evidence of "siblinghood" other than the aunty being listed as mum on the cousin's application....again, I may be wrong here.

#PersonalOpinion

Hello Mamaroon,

I think the only difference here is that the relationship proves more to be "sibling" than "adoption." Based on the moniker's claims, proving the cousin and the said person to be siblings is more reasonable and those documents showed in the moniker's earlier post may suffice. If the cousin didn't name the moniker has sibling and if there was no affidavit for proving their relationship, it would have been a different ball game.

If the cousin used the same affidavit as evidence of birth or proof of relationship (parents) to migrate to Canada, it would be no problem for the said person to do the same now. It may be better to ask the cousin to send the actual proof of relationship/birth used as evidence during the cousin's application. This would confirm the contained details and/or get their to go to their local govt to obtain a family certificate.

My opinion though!

All the best

Hi Everyone, please i need advice. I just got married and we’re about to start the process, i have a few questions
1. My passport hasn’t expired but still has my maiden name, do i have to change it to apply? Or just provide marriage certificate
2. I studied health education with 4years experience as a customer care manager, my husband studied computer science but went into business afterwards (mart, restaurant, bakery, gym, e.t.c) what are our chances of getting jobs. Though i intend to go back to school there at some point
3. Which province would be the best for us to settle in based on job opportunities and cost of living

If you have other contributions please go ahead, i don’t mind

Thought since they're related by blood, forgot the part it has to be "Biological"

My Bad! That was a wrong info

Not necessarily biological, can be by adoption too just that it needs to be legal I believe. I have an adoptive sister who would have loved to claim points from our PR sister but no legal adoption documents

Does anyone know how long a UK PCC takes? Saw on their site that it's about 12 days but a friend waited over 50 days

I applied by post, when they recieved my mail they sent an email acknowledging receipt and said processing time is 12 working days but it took less than that (received 12th Oct, dispatched 20th Oct). I paid for £9 extra for international courier, haven't received it yet but it's in transit.
Is it possible your friend didn't pay for any courier? Normal mail can take long.

Thanks! We don't actually need our birth certificates or birth affidavits for eAPR though (as the passport shows identity and age) so your sister likely never needed it unless she was claiming points from another of your siblings....just guessing.

It only comes to play for you claiming points from your sister perhaps.

I'm going to advise you to take Acca Instead of cima. You need to write 4courses under cima to get your 1 year college diploma certificate while under Acca you just have to write 2courses since you studied economics
+ Acca is cheaper

Thank you for the response. How much does ACCA cost?

NYSC experience count, but to meet up with the current score, you would need two or more certificate or maybe a masters as well as minimum of CLB 7 in French.
Modified: didn't know it has been answered above
Can you throw more light on CLB 7? Is this also compulsory?

Please do further research before going for ICM. I’ve seen stories of people recently who didn’t get a favorable evaluation from WES.
ELECHRITA:
Hello all, I'm so glad i came across this thread. I'm just about starting my journey to Canny land wink. I am 29, engaged to be married in April 2021. I only have Bsc but i checked my Crs point and its 460 because i added my fiance's IELTS and masters..and he has a sister in Canada. We decided i will be the principal applicant for age reasons

I plan to write ICM to increase my point to 492. Reason is because i want to get ITA as soon as possible before i clock 30 by oct 2021.

My question is, should i apply with the 460 point or write the ICM?
For those who wrote ICM, how easy/hard is it?
Is it a one day exam or several days like CIPM?
Is one month enough to study and pass?

Please assist a sister
Thank you.
