Why is the North afraid of restructuring?

The North is not actually afraid of restructuring. What we want is that ‘let’s define what is it that we want.’ If we want to be in Nigeria and if we don’t want to be in Nigeria, let’s sit down and agree. If you want to be in Nigeria , you can’t suffocate me and take advantage and say we must stay together. So, the North is looking at all options. We can restructure. We can become confederation. We can devolve power. We can have state police and all that we want. But I can tell you that the thinking of the North now is that we should actually have a referendum If we want Nigeria or not. If we want a Nigeria, then, we must sit down and see how Nigeria will work. So, if we need the country, let’s sit down and decide that we need the country first. Then we can now sit down and decide on how our country can work for all of us. If we decide that we don’t want the country as it is, then, I mean, countries have gone apart. Czechoslovakia and quite a number of other countries, including the Sudan, have gone apart. We don’t want to go to war.

Well, the North is not going to be intimidated again to accept anything. We have to sit down and resolve whether we want this federation or this country as it is.

I doubt its funds matter.

You can't deny that in your own tribe, there are not clowns.

We have them many in my tribe too.

There are extremely sensible people from the North. This is one of them

I look forward to seeing one in real life after all these but Dude don't know yet.

What they need is encouragement.

our leaders knew this country needs drastic change or it will become history....don't know why they keep postponing wat ought to be now till later date.....
asking for confederation would be a slap on the back n a spit on all who died in the biafrian war cos late ojukwu propose this n the North rejected it..
we just need a referendum or we stay n practice true federalism.
Great Britain that is experimenting with Nigeria forget to do same here in how they held Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland together to answer United kingdom

the north will break out from Nigeria. but first they want to make sure they milk Nigeria dry and ensure nothing else is left before then leave. the truth is they want nothing to do with nigeria outside of the oil. all of this are from the elite and it has not favor the poor comon northerners. the presidency is trying hard to turn it to tribal and religious card so as bring the north to their side. but the north is not with buhari currently. that why they said the south want to remove buhari.

See eeh, the North is not the problem of Nigeria.

Its the leaders.

Yes, it will be a blessing to them to too.

Because, by then, their leaders won't see a tribe to blame.

Maybe, we will see a developed North.

The greatest asset anywhere is human capital.

Oil is even a curse to the south cos it made us somehow lazy and always asking for our share.

Our leaders are a curse.. People were made billionaires by oil while some can't eat.

This is the truth but how parochial can they be.

When will they be satisfied with what they think they are milking?

The greatest assets, resources any nation can have are its citizens.

If they think they can steal all they want and are still bereft of how to sustain themselves its a waste of time.
