Is there any disadvantage in the long run if one pursues a lucrative business at the expense of building a career as an employee?

Are there any benefits to being an employee over starting ones business?

Someone once said "people are willing to mind other people's businesses for a lifetime while failing to mind their's for just 5years ".

Now what are advantages of you focusing on a business that is yours :

1. You will be your own boss working on your own terms
and doing what you love.

2. Your financial freedom is yours to decide: how much you earn will be determined by you and not by someone else.

3. You will have more time for your family and the things
you enjoy doing.

It is not an insult, the truth is that not everyone has what it takes to be businessmen, no matter how hard they try they will always fail when they go on their own, but usually excel as employees with very lucrative jobs. 1.No offense to the working folks out there o, but what's the long term advantage for employees besides a pension plan...(I'll leave as a rhetorical question) ?

2. For entrepreneurial success, you need to know what you're getting into : have the right information regarding the business and also know how to add value to whatever service you're offering(this is the shortest route to success in business. And how do I know? Because I've tried it and it works).

3. And as for overcoming fear, the solution is simple : do something ; don't procrastinate ; just do something! So even if you'll fail, you'll know that you tried and you'll learn from whatever mistakes you've made.
