By Ahmed Rufa’i, Dutse/Bassey Anthony, Uyo

President Muhammadu Buhari has asked his ministers to relocate to their home states for the purpose of dousing the tension created by the #ENDSARS protests and the lawlessness that followed.

The ministers are scheduled to meet with stakeholders to explain federal government’s efforts to meet the demands of the youths.

Water Resources Minister Sulaiman Adamu, who confirmed the development during a courtesy call to Governor Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State in Dutse, said the cabinet members were directed to “go to our states to solicit the support of political, traditional, religious and community leaders against the violence that emanated from # EndSARS protests.”

Adamu said he was therefore in the state to meet with leaders on “promoting tolerance, peace and stability in this critical moment and hear from them and report back to him (Buhari) immediately.”.

He acknowledged that the #ENDSARS protests started well and was in line with the Nigerian constitution only to be hijacked along the line by those who infringed on the rights of other citizens, killed innocent persons, looted and engaged in other criminal acts.

He said: “President Muhammad Buhari is soliciting the support of all other political leaders in the state to properly address the people of the state on the need to dispel any rumour that is tantamount to creating disunity among Nigerians and also throw the nation into crisis.”

Akpabio leads FG peace mission to A’Ibom
Niger Delta Affairs Minister Godswill Akpabio who is on a similar mission to Akwa Ibom landed in Uyo on Saturday accompanied by other federal appointees from the state, including Senior Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Ita Enang.

He urged youths of the state to embrace peace as President Buhari is committed to meeting their demands with regard to police reforms.

Akpabio said government was doing a lot in terms of job creation and development of key economic infrastructure in the state and the Niger Delta region.

He asked youths of the state to take advantage of social and economic job intervention programmes of the FG, adding that the Buhari administration is desirous of combating poverty and unemployment in the country.

Akpabio said the EndSARS protest was capable of scaring away existing and expected investors with the negative economic effects on the state and the region.

He commended Governor Udom Emmanuel and other governors for setting up a Judicial Commission of Enquiry to address the concerns of victims of SARS brutality, adding that the Federal Government was ready to work with governors to achieve justice for victims.

The minister urged all those who have lost their properties in the Thursday carnage to channel their petitions to the judicial commission of enquiry.

Also speaking, Senator Ita Enang condemned the wanton destruction of lives and property by miscreants under the guise of EndSARS.

so we should fold our arms and watch the youths vandalized and loot both public and private properties because there are angry right?...

the truth is that, the group of youths doing this is just a hand fold while the rest of us hide here to type gebbreash....and a lot of us hv grown weary with this pattern of demanding for restructuring.

the government has heard our cry..our voices have been heard,so what now?...we need to go the table with the government.thats the only way forward.

when the tension and agitation comes to an end..it is the poor masses that will still suffer..if civil war emanate from this now, it's the poor and average Nigeria that will die most....

so let's take a chill and stop all this rubbish of looting already..let the be peace

Awesome!!! Let them go answer to their people. I love this move!

The National Assembly members should do the same. Let them go tell their people what they've been doing with the monies they've been collecting in their peoples names.

For the first time our stubborn president buhari is JITTERY Lols, he should have govern well the moment he entered Aso rock in 2015 but instead he falls back into settling scores with his political opponents, favouring the north in terms of appointment, implementation of anti people policies like increment of tax and petroleum etc. I campaigned and voted for this man thinking he will be the father for all and president for the whole country but the reverse is the case now that people don't believe in his charisma and capabilities anyl longer in the south he is sending our own people to us for negotiation. When Obasanjo, yaradua and Jonathan were president all former president do come to Aso rock for meetings once in 3or2 months not so sure but don't think but think buhari plays such inclusive presidency all he does is attack attack and attack all ex heads of state that he is better than them and that they brought us to where were right now. Buhari people have seen how nepotistic and sectional you are that is why This is happening.

Buhari is the real devil. Devil is Buhari. Sometimes I think Nigerians did something bad bad God just want to punish us with this Evil Old Man.

Buhari is the GOAT of all the Nigerian evil men.
Abacha was his student (Believe it or not, he was)
Buhari thrives in chaos. It’s his style
He is war merchant. He makes more from chaos. His destiny is to finish and ruin Nigeria. He did it in his first military regime. He's doing it again.

WE CAN ONLY STOP HIM WITH OUT VOICE, WITH ONE VOICE #EndSWAT #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria

embarassed

Thunder fire dem with their empty promises, dem d carry us play. Anyways it's not all of the will return safely back to Abuja, for number of decades the so-called Nigeria government has drilled resources from the Niger Delta communities till now we have not seen any federal government presence in Nigeria Delta. No employment for the indigenous peoples of Niger Delta, no industry built, no hospital built, no innovation, no scholarships for the people, no drinking water, just NDDC who stole the money same Northern people manipulated everywhere. Riverines communities have been polluted with wast from oil companies who would rather recruited their staff from Lagos and brought them to Niger Delta to work, oil companies don't recruit from their operating base rather Lagos State which their head offices located and same they pay taxes to. aquatic lives are dangered, Fisher men no longer caught from the sea cos of chemical waste these wicked Oil companies empty to the river. Currently major Niger Delta communities can not cultivated their farm lands. No drinking water. We are doomed, Niger Delta how long shall we continue to fold our harm and watch these opression continue, how long shall we got carried away by empty promises, how long shall we Watch our fathers and mothers suffering from toxic government and oil companies operating our land. Arise for the future that our generations will not dwell in a condition as worst as we are suffering now. Our graduates are rooming the streets, our schools are not equipped. our engineering graduate are ordinarily labourers for those who cares to employ them. Please Niger Delta people let's wake up and ask questions, let's save our land.
