Pancakeey:If you have any problem as a civil servant or union, you direct it to Labour and Employment Ministry. They over see all the Labourers(Civil servants) for FG. ![]() In this case of ASUU, education minister could be there but there is little or nothing he would do. Example: If doctors (NMA) go on strike today, Ngige will still be the one to negotiate for FG. He represents FG as far as civil servant is concerned. |

samuelpeters:Oh thank you. I’ve been blaming the wrong person then I actually thought it was meant to be Adamu. This Ngige has been dragging his feet on the floor. Very incompetent! I heard they’re having a late meeting today. Is it true? I don’t want to raise my hopes up |

[quote author=Bukan20 post=95436673]Cos the only problem now is the payment mode which gonna come from 3 ministries involving labour. [/quote Ngige over sees employment and Labour. That means every worker goes to the ministry for complaint whether it involves money, promotion, working environment. Ministry of Labour and Employment(MoLE) is like Department of Human Resource/Personnel management in companies. MoLE is the representative of FG. They tell FG(CEO) your problem and anything FG says will be communicated to you(employee) through the MoLE. In this ASUU case, since it involves money and ASUU is under the ministry of education, these ministers(Minister of Education and Minister of Finance) would have to be present or send someone to represent them along side MoLE. So when they say ASUU vs FG, NMA vs FG or NLC vs FG it is just the Union vs. MoLE. The same way AG who doubles as Minister of justice represents FG when any union or state sues FG. |

Pancakeey:I won't say he's incompetent. His job is to ALWAYS secure the interest of FG in any negotiation . So you don't expect him to just agree to any complaint, so as to look competent even if it doesn't favour FG? He will be sacked!!!Remember, he doesn't have the monopoly of making all the decisions on his own. He would have to talk to the president and get approval before anything happens. So if Ngige disagrees, it is actually buhari that disagrees. About the meeting, i don't know of any meeting. Remember that Buhari sent all his cabinet members to their various states to calm youths and this looting going on. If the above is true, then Ngige should be in Anambra now. |

| Re: ASUU/FG Meeting Today 28-10-2020? by samuelpeters(m): 6:09pm On Oct 28, 2020 |
Pancakeey:Alright. According to report, ASUU could call off the strike if they want to. But FG's track record has shown them to be insincere with their dealings with ASUU. ASUU wants to be on a safer side this time around. So they won't go on strike after few months of calling this one off. If FG is sincere with our Educational system, they should be looking at fast tracking the testing process of UTAS. Give the necessary go ahead here and there, and in 2 weeks, everything should be ready. No! They rather play the victim card so ASUU would call off the strike and they(FG) is now be reluctant to approve UTAS and the cycle will start again. My dear, keep doing other things with your life. One thing that should be at the back of your mind is, though ASUU has their shortcomings, but they are also victims of bad government like other nigerians. Most of their children are in public universites too. FG is the enemy! |

Houston17:I kukuma dey see everything my brother... I'm just not too ethusiatic about this their meeting...But I sincerely hope for a positive outcome....All of the men and women sitting down for that meeting are all products of education. It baffles me why it's taking them so long to reach an agreement with ASUU... Like one of the things we need in this country is mental restructuring. We cannot just be at home and they still call us leaders of tomorrow....lai lai... What is a leader with training. |
