Pronunciation! Some africans with bad pronunciations will call a burger "boga" which is Swahili will sound like mboga instead. So blame the poor English from stupid Africans. No white man can be served that way since most whites can pronounce burger in a proper way.

No need for this it is a well known fact most Tanzanians are not good English speakers there is nothing to be ashamed of

You don't have overpasses in your country to begin with, what would know?

Most Nigerian youths are high on drugs, says Lagos lawmaker grin

The lawmaker representing Amuwo Odofin constituency 1 of Lagos State, Mojisola Alli-Macaulay, says most Nigerian youths are high on drugs all the time. grin

Alli-Macaulay said this during a plenary at the Lagos State House of Assembly on the looting and pandemonium in the wake of the #EndSARS protest that was hijacked by hoodlums.

The lawmaker said, “The National Orientation Agency needs to get to work. We need to begin to orientate our young people. They need people who can talk to them from time to time. They are high on drugs all the time, most of them. They go to social media and so all sorts of things. I’m even scared to give my young children phones because I am scared of what they may see on social media. It is that bad.”

Alli-Macaulay said unemployment should not be an excuse for looting, adding that unemployment was not exclusive to Nigeria.

“I schooled in the UK and I saw a lot of young people who were not employed but they didn’t become hoodlums. Why can’t we look inwards and look for solutions to our problems?” she asked.

The lawmaker argued that an unemployed graduate could get a job in the informal sector instead of complaining about joblessness.

Poverty is characterised by a lack of access to essential goods, services, assets, credits, and opportunities to which every human being is entitled to. Poor households need to sustain themselves by their labour and be adequately rewarded and should have reasonable protections from external shocks. In addition, individuals and societies that are poor tend to remain so if they are not empowered to participate in the decisions that shape their lives. Majority of people living in rural Ghana fit into the World Bank’s classification of extreme poverty. cheesy grin grin cheesy grin Extreme poverty defined by the World Bank as getting by on an income of less than $1.25 a day, means that households cannot meet basic needs for survival. cheesy grin cheesy grin They are chronically hungry, grin cheesy grin cheesy unable to get health care, lack safe drinking water and sanitation, cannot afford education for their children and perhaps lack rudimentary shelter- a roof to keep rain out of the hut- and basic articles of clothing like shoes. grin grin cheesy All these played out in my daily interactions with many of our people living in the rural areas and I saw it first hand. Nowhere is this trend so acute as in Northern Ghana. The Ghanaian situation mirrors the African situation as a whole.

The nature of poverty is complex and its causes diverse but there is an urgent need to launch an assault on rural poverty in Ghana. grin grin grin cheesy This is not to say there is no urban poverty in Ghana, of course there is, one need to visit Nima for example, to see things for himself but the situation in rural Ghana is much worse. cheesy grin cheesy grin grin Because most people in rural Ghana are living with poverty that kills. cheesy grin cheesy grin :DThere is no other part of the country where the need to address poverty is as urgent as in the rural areas. Poverty in rural Ghana is driving mass migration into the cities and fueling lawlessness and violence. Economic crisis, high inflation, unemployment, lack of credit facilities to engage in productive ventures, and an old fashioned educational system that fails to respond to and meet the needs of the modern global economy are pitching millions into poverty who were previously making gains. grin grin grin grin grin

Ghana is poor despite all the natural resources because we are unable to give our children good basic education, we are not able to impart relevant skills that matter most in the 21st century to our Useeless young men and young women, and as a result we are unable to get productive work out of them. grin grin grin grin grin grin In addressing extreme poverty, the government should think of reforming the educational system to place more emphasis on the acquisition of relevant technical skills and also improving basic education. The attention now is on the poor but the middle class should not be ignored. grin grin ;DThe overall objective is to enable as many as possible to join that class. Currently the middle class in Ghana is suffocating under a huge burden of taxes. cheesy grin cheesy They are in fact overburdened with taxes. cheesy cheesy grin So the government should consider cutting and streamlining taxes to spur growth and should launch bold moves to open up the economy and make it an attractive destination for foreign direct investment. The sharpest reduction in poverty will come about when not the government spend most but when the economy grows the most.

Residents of Nsuta – Birim in the Sekyere Central District of the Ashanti region have said some armed robbers in the area have resulted in putting their fingers in the private parts of women in the area. grin grin grin grin grin

The armed robbers who operate on the Nsuta-Birim-Jeduako road according to the residents do not only rob them but use their fingers on the private part of their victims who are women. grin grin grin grin

Speaking to OTEC News Kwame Agyenim Boateng, commercial drivers who work in the area said they have grounded their vehicles for the past one week due to the rampant robbery cases recorded in the area.

They disclosed that robbers in the past months have consistently attacked drivers and traders with sophisticated guns and machetes killing three persons with one sustaining severe machete injuries.

“We are tired of the armed robbery operations in the area, they beat men with guns and machete after “fingering” our wives,” grin grin cheesy one of the drivers cried.

We had to park our cars for over one week due to how the robbers were chasing us on daily basis, we have reported the matter to our hopeless Nsuta police on several cases but nothing has been done about the situation. grin grin grin grin grin
