If after the probe and The tyrant Buhari, mentally unstable Sanwo-olu, thief Tinubu, wicked Wike and coward Buratai are not prosecuted and jailed then the international community have failed humanity.

Not really.... Nigerians should uncover evidence, write icc etc. Create the life you want and stop being dependent on international community or outsourcing human responsibilities to God....

If this is true, then its surely a welcome development...

I dont know if i'm the only one who feels nothing good would come out of all these panels set up by these governors. But with ICC, its a different ball game!!

As someone who knows International Law and has visited the ICC, and have met several ICC/ICTR prosecutors, I can assure you that no case will come about out of these actions.

1. The requirements to qualify for prosecution are steep and will surely not be met
2. There is an ongoing legal proceeding which the Rome Statute respects
3. The ICC has no enforcement mechanism and relies on member States to voluntarily hand over suspects.

While I support every bit of allegations and investigations regarding the lekki toll plaza massacre, and the oversight function of UN and ICC towards this, Nigerians should be very careful about pushing the matter into the point of exposing their leaders into the manipulative tactics of these international cartels with vested interests in mostly of Western countries.

I'm just a little bit conscious about how the scenario could pan out very quickly. While I want all the soldiers involved in the lekki massacre of unarmed EndSARS protestors to be brought to justice, I don't want a situation where the Western powers could use the ICC prosecution as a political leverage against Nigerian leaders. We are very much aware about their stance through IMF and world bank in devaluing Nigerian naira, in which president Buhari had objected to in most parts. They might just be seeing this ICC litigation as a good opportunity to power home their demands against Nigerian government.

Donald Trump's republican party was massively voted for in the ongoing elections in USA despite his shortcomings in handling the covid-19 pandemic and some other issues. Americans voted for Trump because of his populism view of the economy. Now the republican party has regained the majority seats in both the Senate and Congress and Trump is on course to win the white house. These are the people who are against international organizations like IMF, WTO, WHO, etc unless it serves only American interests. So Nigerians should be very careful of what they call justice in terms of ICC and UN because the politics of the world is not as it used to be pre-Trump. There are far more nationalistic views of geopolitical dimension than friendly international diplomacy these days.

As a rebuttal:

I just learned that the American presidential and congressional elections is still ongoing. It is not sure which candidate is going to win the white house but the early polls showing a landslide victory for Biden has been evaporated. Everything is still up for grabs as Biden has assumed leads in some key States.

While we are investigating the Lekki incident,
ICC please kindly help us Anambra youths to quicken investigation into this heinous crime of over 40 bodies of able bodied men killed, burnt and fed to the fishes!!
It has been swept under the carpet for some years now.

Every life matters.
...

It still shocks me people are quiet about this particular crime against humanity...akwuzu sars should be investigated from 2013 till 2020...past and present governors who turned blind eyes to this wickedness and all those involved should also be investigated...

The International Criminal Court, should get the facts right and jail these bloodsucking criminals parading as our leaders, for ordering Nigerian Army to shoot and kill many peaceful #EndSARS protesters, at Lekki tollgate, #Lagos on 20/10/2020
