Please advice me on what to do. I used a pos service around my area to do a cash withdrawal of 20,200. The transaction failed but my account was debited.

I went to firstbank today and they told me that I have to wait for 3 working weeks. Please is this normal ?

Yes bro, unfortunately such is the case when it comes to P.O.S services. Getting your money back can be sometimes difficult. It's not a straightforward process as bank atm or channels. Be patient it will be traced and reversed.

Do you have a receipt for the failed transaction? If yes, get the firstbank customer service email, and send them a mail.

With new CBN regulations, failed POS transactions are treated within 5 working days.

3 weeks is a little too much. I mean what if the money is all I have on me and an health emergency comes up?

Eish this is serious... I guess nothing worke the way they should in this country. I have to wait for 3 good weeks to get my hard earned money back. Shame.

I will do as you have said and hopefully something positive comes out of it cause waiting for 3 weeks will put me in a lot of distress.

If you have a transaction declined receipt, it should take more than (72 hours). Without receipt, it could take months.
