You mean the T shirt and sweaters ? I recently shipped some containers to Calabar ,including merchandise , but I don't think it will arrive there before the carnival . the shirts and sweaters are not for sale but will be given out as gifts , it's just an idea I thought about not really for profit . I know Calabar is currently facing developmental issues so I wasn't sure if it's a good idea at this time .

I thought you made a mistake I've observed many Nigerians on this forum refer to Akwa ibom people as Calabar. What most Nigerians know or refer to as Calabar are akwa ibom people ,not Efik Calabarians. Akpan and Ekaette are not Efik names . So to the wakaman guy , just do a case transfer to the new state of those who tarnished the name Calabar .

It's unfortunate , I know not all but I've observed too many Akwa ibom reasoning and behaviour on this forum and that's why I simply don't like you, you have a evil heart. sorry to say but I don't like Aka ibom people based on my observations so far ,until someone proves me wrong.

Calabar is a city state with rich culture and history. It sits on a Hill surrounded by highlands, mountains and rivers, It's a lush city of calm ambience where ancient and modern meets. I think Calabar deserves to be popular tourist destination like Singapore or Luxembourg,even though it's part of Nigeria it can be declared a special administrative unit like Hong kong or Taiwan. The Niara would still be used but the Calabar dollars would serve as a discount currency, for example , you receive 1 Calabar dollar for every 1000 naira spent ,and you can can only spend the Calabar dollars in specific places like amusement parks or resorts or national parks .

Calabar's former name was Akwa akpa. How is that not similar to Akwa ibom?
The same way the ikwerre's reject that they are not igbos, but bare the same name and have the same language with little variations.
