We appreciate your commitment towards updating this thread. I graduated as a social worker last year, haven't been called up for the compulsory one year service, though. I hope to emigrate to the UK in search for job. I do have a couple of questions I would like to ask. Is it compulsory I should have a considerable level of experience before applying for a job? Do I have to have a certain amount of money in my account to be able to take care of myself in the UK before I could apply? Walk me through this, please. |

TheLasyBuddha:Hello, I can only tell what is applicable in my profession. I don't know much about your profession, A nurse can apply straight from the uni, as long he/she has a pin from the council. Work experience is not a factor. A nurse does not need to have money in the bank because of the sponsorship from the employer. |

Hi Soknown, I have been following your thread for a while. Just cutrious to know why you left SASH? My friend got a Band 7 ultrasound job there, is SAsh advisable to go? Room for growth, work colleagues and the trust itself? How about the cost in Redhill, is it significantly expensive, as my friend would be moving over to Redhill from Hertfordshire. She was think because it's closer to London, opportunities over there can be explored including locums. Looking forward to your response pls. Soknown: |

Ace2013:SaSH is a very lovely place to work. There is openness and good communication from top to bottom. I can't count the numbers of time that I have met Michael Wilson CBE Chief Executive on the corridor and he greeted with a very big smile. Or Jane Dickson, the Chief Nurse holding the door for you to pass or Nicola Shopland, Assistant Chief, coming to the ward to check how you fare. A couple of colleagues in my cohort are now Band 6, so there is opportunity for growth. There are a lot of training to acquaint you with SaSH processes, finally it is a CQC rated - OUTSTANDING. Trust. One of 9 trust so rated in the UK. I left because the neighbourhood is very expensive and it didn't fit into my long term plan. @Symbae, what say you? 1 Like |

Soknown: I concur with you soknown. So far my experience with them have being amazing and they have been supportive throughout my process. The only down part is that accomodation is quite expensive in redhill. Still on my search though, I registered on zoopla and spareroom and I'm yet to be contacted. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Symbae: I've been trawling UK sites for general info and came across this site that provided some insights on expectations in various neighborhoods. https://www.countryliving.com/uk/homes-interiors/property/a30439201/peterborough-worst-place-live-uk/ Also check the 10 best places to live there. Then I also use rightmove.co.uk to compare rents in different areas. Hope this helps. 1 Like 1 Share |
