They might not stop it doesn't mean they won't end in court. I just listened to a video of republican claiming that there were illegal votes. So, they are already in court now. That legal votes stopped 3rd November.

In other U.S. elections, candidates are elected directly by popular vote. But the president and vice president are not elected directly by citizens. Instead, they’re chosen by “electors” through a process called the Electoral College. To win the election, a candidate must receive a majority of electoral votes. In the event no candidate receives a majority, the House of Representatives chooses the president and the Senate chooses the vice president.

The process of using electors comes from the Constitution. It was a compromise between a popular vote by citizens and a vote in Congress.

Each state gets as many electors as it has members of Congress (House and Senate). Including Washington, D.C.’s three electors, there are currently 538 electors in all.

Each state’s political parties choose their own slate of potential electors.

Now, many will be asking that if the electors vote for President, why should U.S citizens vote in the general election?

During the general election their votes helps determine their State’s electors. When they vote for a Presidential candidate, they aren’t actually voting for President. They are telling their State which candidate they want their State to vote for at the meeting of electors. The States use these general election results (also known as the popular vote) to appoint their electors. The winning candidate’s State political party selects the individuals who will be electors.

So in essence, let's use Nigeria as an example:

For Kaduna State; 3 Senators and 15 Members of House of Representatives (i.e 18 federal lawmakers).
This means that, Kaduna State has a total of 18 electors.

And for Bayelsa; 3 Senators and 5 members of House of reps (i.e 8 Federal lawmakers).
This also means that Bayelsa state has a total of 8 Electors.

Now let's say during general elections;
Total votes cast in Kaduna State - APC (51%) and PDP (49%), this means that at the electoral college, the whole votes of the 18 electors will go to APC (simply because they have a simple majority of votes in Kaduna).

And for Bayelsa too, let's say APC won (19%) and PDP (81%). This also means that the whole of votes of the 8 electors goes to PDP.

In essence, the popular votes doesn't matter, the electoral college matters. And in the U.S, there is a total of 538 electors, a candidate needs a total of the 270 votes and above to win the elections.

Seems Georgia will be flipped with the vast majority of mail ballot going to Biden just 13k vote lead for trump and its decreasing by each new count.

The financial industry is in New York so you are on point that they vote Democrat. The manufacturing industry in America is almost extinct because they have outsourced that to China while they leave R & D in America. That's why Trump is very popular in those Midwest states were the carcasses of those dead manufacturing industry are found because of his message to bring them back from China, a promise he failed to deliver though. The covid 19 added to his woes and that's why he has lost in the Midwest except Ohio that has a lot of brainwashed evangelicals.
