She didnt send any document. However, i used some of her documents in making my application. Documents like
Passport data page, Certificate of Sponsorship (COS) and offer letter.

Pretty straightforward application to be honest.

First step is to make an online application. You need to be meticulous when filling necessary information as making any silly mistake could affect the successful outcome of the application. After the completion of your online application, you are expected to pay the Visa and IHS fees. You will be sent a GWF number and IHS reference number upon payment of the aforementioned fees.

The second step is to book an appointment with TLS. You can either upload your documents by yourself before going for the appointment or pay them to upload your documents on the day of your appointment.

Apologies over my long absence. I have being occupied with family responsibilities and hustling. Few weeks ago marked my one year in the UK and i must confess that coming to the UK was the best decision i made. I thank God for his infinite mercies upon my life and my family.

I always spy the Travel thread and i have made one or two comments in one of the threads. There is something i find sickening amongst some Nigerians particularly Nairalanders.They have this wrong notion that Nigerians in the UK are poor, Nigerians in the UK dont make much money and that the UK economy is dead.

I am going to state emphatically that unless you are living in the UK illegally and lazy that is when you go poor. Personally, if you are hardworking and living here legally, i think you will be better off than your contemporaries in Australia, Canada or USA. Since i arrived the UK i have never been out of job. I have done care and factory jobs in the last 7 months and with the income of these jobs i have succeeded in building a three bedroom flat for my mom and i am also supporting my wife in the building of a 3 bedroom flat for her mom. And one idiot who has not leave the shores of Nigeria will be talking down on the country.

That been said, few months ago, I decided to be self employed. I registered with 2 food delivery companies that offers fast and reliable delivery which the customer can track on their phones. One can deliver by bicycle, motorcycle or car. But i chose to work with an Electric bike which makes the job very very easy. Pretty straightforward and easy job as you are expected to work with just your phone and your delivery thermal bag to keep the food warm. Another interesting part is that you are your own boss, you work when you like and you can cancel an offer if you dont like the address of the customer.

I easily makes £100 in 4 to 5 hours on a weekday and £120 to £150 in 5 hours on weekends. Because i have got a wife, i only do Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and i dont work more than 6 hours. Talking about the future, i am planning on starting a Masters programme soon.

I am not here to brag or to chase clout but to educate some myopic Nigerians who thinks we are all suffering in the UK.

Sincerely bro, I'm happy for you. One thing I've always loved about the abroad is that there is opportunity for empowerment especially for young and abled bodied people. Your age mates back home are mostly unemployed, underemployed, roaming the streets as urchins and omo-ita, acting as thugs and agberos to politicians their mate, surviving on handouts from parents/guardians, dead from SARS or some accident or other avoidable circumstances or just frustrated about life - depression, drugs etc.

Pls don't feel anger towards the folks back home who talk about poverty in the UK and all. They are talking from the place of ignorance. Yes, there is poverty in the UK and there is more to life but one must start somewhere. They haven't even started life. You are talking of PG studies abroad and talking about completed projects back home - they can't even itemise anything of value they have done.

Folks back home need all the love and support they can get. Too much time spent in deprivation and suffering and oppression and poverty has formatted them and naturally, most Nigerians don't know how to genuinely celebrate someone else's success.

They need help and support and love. I wish you the best of life and more successes.

I sincerely dont know much about Banking in the UK other than the indians always answering the phone whenever you ring your bank. Lol. You can throw this question on the living in the UK thread and i assure you, you will be glad you did.

Concerning your other question, it is indeed an herculean task to penetrate into the industry with my Nigerian licence. I will have to write several exams and ultimately register with the licensing body which is quite an expensive journey and time consuming. My plan is to undergo the Masters programme soon and subsequently register with the licensing body. To be honest, lets see how event unfolds.

Someone sent me an email asking whether an international student can be self employed. In practice, Students on Tier 4 visas are not allowed to be self employed because it will be difficult to ascertain the hours of work.

Surprisingly, i have seen couple of the september international students doing my current job. When i interviewed them, they said they were accepted regardless of their immigration status. Strange innit.

That's the resultant effect of a poverty thinking mindset when you've lived in Nigeria your whole life. Poverty is engrained in your mind and you cannot have abundance mentality.

My old man lives in Yankee but spent over 20 years building a massive house in the village.

As a Nigerian, IELTS is a mandatory requirement when applying for a Tier 2 Visa.

A girlfriend can get a dependant Tier 2 Visa. But if your relationship is legal, like you have a government issued document to prove civil partnership with your girlfriend then it will be allowed.
