Esseite:The protest of 2012 was a real agitation. People didn't invade police station shouting shoot me shoot me. They also didn't block government house gate in 2012. Even at this nobody shot at protesters this year even if fake news says so. Some few criminals however, got more than they bargained. Real people were shot and killed at the subsidy protest in 2012. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/01/12-killed-as-subsidy-protests-turn-bloody/ Guess what happened after the real shooting? No looting, burning, and killings because it was a genuine protest and not a sinister attempt to overthrow the government. |

"Lie" Muhammed started fake news prior to 2015 election. So what he implemented is now hunting him. They got to presidency through fake news. |

ivolt:So police brutality campaign was designed to overthrow Govt but fuel hike was a genuine protest.. If you had read your link, you wont have made your last response..read it below.. Two persons were reportedly killed in Lagos when a Divisional Police Officer attached to the Pen Cinema Police Station shot at some youths who took opportunity of the absence of traffic to play football along the road. The Inspector General of Police Hafiz Ringim promptly ordered the arrest of the DPO who he said should face trial for murder. Now can you relate that with 2020 lekki massacre? |

Many of you shouting social media regulations, just know that your idea of regulation of social media and the govt idea are not the same. Even in the absence of social media, Nigeria was a mess, social media is one of the least problems of Nigeria right now. As for me, it's better we manage the fake news that filter in with the social media than no news at all and the govt now gives you all the news. Beware of what you wish for. |

There have been over 5 committee report on police reforms, and atleast 2 were presidential committees. The last was less than 2 years ago. Can Lai Mohammed tell us what has happened to those report as minister of information? We know of the corruption in the country, be it police or any aspect of the country, but brazen brutality and the absolute silence of this government shows that Lai Mohammed and his cohort have tacit support to the corruption in the police. Southern Nigerians are wiser. There are enough laws in our books to prosecute or mininise fake news, use them and stop looking to pass a new law that will absolutely emasculate the people's voice. The East has the worst set of leadership in the country, they will easily accept all that Lai Mohammed has to say, hook and sinker. Set of blind leaders. |

Me lie lie Mohammed focus on the rising cases of insecurity,on prices of commodities sky rocketing plus poverty and the fact that Nigeria is going insolvent with numerous debts do not also forget about the downturn of the economy. Nigeria is a democratic country and will therefore act as one don't look for ways to clamp down on freedom of speech and expression as oppose to our constitution |

South east is the major place the FG needs to focus on. 80% of the problem happening in Nigerian social media can be traced to the Southeast |

Who determines what is fake news? The nigerian govt is the achitect of most fake news in Nigeria a good example is the incident that happened at the lekki tollgate where they initially kept denying that they never sent army to the tollgate until evidence from the same social media made them change their statements. I don't even think it's going to be possible to successfully gag the social media in this country. |

Why is it that this current government like to make reference to China when ever they want to take away our voice, right and freedom. China has become a role model for them. These same corrupt people don't talk about what China does to any politicians guilty of corruption. If you want to emulate China do it in all capacity. Mumu government |

Punch, Vanguard, and so many other news outlets. These claims remain unsubstantiated till today. There are more unverified fake news from 2015 like this made by the same people in power today. Now they're trying to gag the media and suppress free speech because they can't handle the same civil dissent that helped them get into office. |
